Bloody Disgusting learned that Norman Yeung and Kacey Barnfield have joined the cast of Sony Screen Gems' Resident Evil: Afterlife, the Paul W.S. Anderson directed sequel that will hit theaters on August 27, 2010 in 3D. They star alongside Milla Jovovich, Boris Kodjoe, Ali Larter, Wentworth Miller, Spencer Locke, Kim Coates and Shawn Roberts. Beyond the break you'll find details on all of the characters, along with the first synopsis being released!
Milla Jovovich returns as the zombie-fighting heroine Alice. Ali Larter reprises her role as Claire Redfield from Resident Evil: Extinction. Spencer Locke, who played K-Mart in Extinction, is also set to return.
New to the film franchise is leading man Wentworth Miller, who has signed on as Chris Redfield – Claire’s brother and a popular character from the game series. Shawn Roberts will take over the role of Alice’s nemesis Wesker. Boris Kodjoe and Kim Coates have also been cast.
Filmmaker Paul W. S. Anderson is back in his triple threat capacity as writer, director and producer.
SYNOPSIS: In a world ravaged by a virus infection, turning its victims into the Undead, ALICE (Milla Jovovich), continues on her journey to find survivors and lead them to safety. Her deadly battle with the Umbrella Corporation reaches new heights, but Alice gets some unexpected help from an old friend. A new lead that promises a safe haven from the Undead leads them to Los Angeles, but when they arrive the city is overrun by thousands of Undead and Alice and her comrades are about to step into a deadly trap.
They are crap. The last one ended with a character holding her dead naked self in her arms. Probably the dumbest image ever created on film. There are crap plots, crap characters and ripped off ideas from places which shouldn't be the inspiration. Why steal off of Day of the Dead when the resident evil games are full of original scares and characters. Too bad Anderson doesn't get cancer before this comes out.
Awesome news! Love all 3 Resident Evil films, so I'm sure I will love this one too. Especially now that Wentworth Miller, as Chris Redfield, will be on board. Can't Wait!
i like these movies... i mean sure i turn my brain off watching them and i'm not trying to find superintelligence in these movies, but they are really fun to watch so yeah that's cool i'm exited :P
count me in too! i LOVE LOVE LOVE these movies! and MILLA RULES!! this is such a great cast!! this could very well turn out to be the best RE movie yet!
The Resident Evil movies are fun they might be a little cheesey and dumb but what do you expect for video game movies.I might actually see this one in theaters just to see how the 3D comes out.
3 felt like a made for tv 'mad max' movie with shitty zombies. and 2 was all over the place..fucking grave yard zombies with k-mart halloween lookings masks? wow...Nemesis looked horrible, he was slow, with his frankenstein boots, plastic looking toxic avenger costume ect....it was pretty hilarious.
and i'm not a fan of Shawn Roberts playing wesker...he doesn't have that cool cold as ice look....I guess the casting for Chris Redfield on the other hand decent...still, he doesn't quite look the part...but then again none of the characters in the movies looked the part except for jill
yeah these movies are great ,I cant believe some people didn't like the graveyard in part 2 I for one loved that cause I'm old school and It felt like a nod to the cheesy zombie flicks of the 80's like return of the living dead lol!!! and extinction was cool because we basically got to see the day of the dead romero couldn't finance back in 85 awesome, don't know about 3d though I mean really does this need to be 3d there gonna do that shit to death
Uh punisher8178... dont tell me you preferered RE3 over Day of the dead...DOTD is a masterpeice, personally its my favorite zombie movie of all time. RE3 was entertaining in ways, yet total garbage....RE2's graveyard scene was poorly done..the zombies had k-mart halloween masks on for christ sakes...and they were getting karate chopped and getting back flip kicks to the head by mila....RE2 felt like one giant Resident evil cosplay convention in Toronoto. RE3 was slightly better, but it was totaly lacking...those super zombies were so lame and i hated the setting...That scene with the crows was laughable when that actress(who's actually a singer) got killed by the crows in the bus while slowly sliding down the window in some sort of lame soap opera dramatic fasion.lol
I think they should've cast Wentworth Miller as Wesker, he looks more like him than he does Chris Redfield, and he kinda has a cold, icy demeanor... at least I think he does.
