The biggest defenders of traditional heavy metal, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD, are back with a vengeance on their amazing new album, Here Waits Thy Doom, and a massive worldwide touring schedule. The group just completed a lengthy, highly successful North American tour alongside In Flames, Between The Buried & Me and The Faceless. 3 INCHES OF BLOOD have teamed up with BloodyDisgusting.com to present a massive North American fall headlining tour with Saviours and Holy Grail in the support slots. This kicks off on Nov. 13th and will be the last U.S. run until the spring of 2010, so you won’t want to miss out on this. Read on for more.
This is the band’s first headlining nationwide tour in almost two years, so it is definitely not to be missed. Fans can expect to hear a slew of new, never before played material from their critically acclaimed new effort, as well as all of the classic hits. Either see below or head over now to MySpace.com/3iob to view their complete touring itinerary.
The group recently shot a video for the album’s vicious lead-off cut, “Battles and Brotherhood,” that was produced and directed by the acclaimed Rick Podd, who has worked on such movies as The Watcher & Hellraiser. The clip basically features the band set in the middle of a medieval battle and also showcases their acting abilities. This video is definitely going to stand out from the pack with its big-budget look and old school settings. Stay tuned to BloodyDisgusting.com over the next week for an exclusive video teaser to give you a little taste as to what’s to come with the full-length clip.
Cam Pipes (vocals) states: We're off to a pretty good start in support of Here Waits Thy Doom. Our hometown show in Vancouver sold out beyond capacity and was amazing in every way. Had very supportive crowds at the few Western Canada shows we did afterwards. Currently nearing the end of the U.S. tour with In Flames, Between the Buried and Me and The Faceless and as we had hoped, it has been a great tour. We usually get along with all the bands we tour with and this is no different. The shows have been hugely attended and fans have been quite enthusiastic to say the least.
“We have a week of headlining shows on the east coast with Children and Mantic Ritual before we go to Canada and tour our way back home across our home country. Saviours will be meeting up with us in southern Ontario to do the last week of Canadian dates. After a bit of time off we embark on the BloodyDisgusting.com (our favorite website) sponsored headlining North American tour. Again, Saviours will be joining us as well as Holy Grail. It's a busy fall season for us, but we wouldn't have it any other way.”
Born out of a love for pure metal, weaned on a diet of fantasy and mythology, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD have been slaying the infidel for nearly a decade. In that time, they've released three albums and splattered the ground with crimson streaks while on tour with such acclaimed acts as Satyricon, Black Dahlia Murder, Motorhead and Cradle of Filth, just to name a few. These are mighty accomplishments for dedicated warriors from Vancouver, British Columbia, a region that's not exactly the Camelot of heavy metal. With their last album, Fire Up the Blades, they have surpassed even their own manly exploits, crafting a number of undeniable anthems that crash, rip and roar like a Medieval skirmish.
I saw them twice.
once with Satyricon and THEY WERE AWESOME..
2nd time with 69 Eyes - and their SHOW at that gig was NOT good.
Cam is a great guy though. I spoke to him at the Satyricon show.
"The biggest defenders of traditional heavy metal", Are you fucking shittin' me? These guys are fucking jokes in the heavy metal scene. I'm usually not one to insult people on their musical tastes, but when you type up something that fucking lame, I have to pipe up. I really couldn't care less if you listen to 3 Inches of Blood, but don't say stupid shit like that ever again. It's insulting to the real traditional heavy metal bands out there.
I'm super stoked to see these guys in Chicago. And MrDisgusting, I fully support your description of this band. Their Iron Maiden riffs and Judas Priest inspired vocals are defending traditional heavy metal like Marines around an oil well.
Actually, that's not much of an exaggeration. Out of all the metal bands around today, they have that NWOBHM sound down pat. And if you don't like them, go back to your Lacuna Coil CDs. Great band, but their second vocalist had to leave the band, which hurt their sound a bit on the new album. And yes, death to false metal.

i agree, saw them twice and it was just horrid, lucky they wer with fear factory so it wasn't a complete waist of my time...
3 Inches Of Blood? Really? Please. They're a decent band if you're into that kind of thing, but they are in no way "the biggest defenders of traditional heavy metal."
I already got my tickets!!
(horrorfangabe) - have you ever seen King Diamond live? That's the one band I've always wanted to see, but they never come around here.
