In our exclusive interview with director Zeb de Soto, he reveals that Joseph Pilato (Captain Rhodes from Day of the Dead) has been cast as Cooper in his 3D feature Night of the Living Dead: Origins. In addition, starring alongside Danielle Harris as Barbara are Mike Diskint as Tom and Alona Tal ("Supernatural" ) as Helen Cooper. You can read our exclusive chat by clicking here, which includes your first ever look at the film, along with more details on the plot (I know you've had a ton of questions). De Soto, who wrote the script with David R. Schwartz, wants to update the tale partially by bringing out the characters’ backstories and make what he called “an American-style anime.”

All that jibba-jabba about his new process.... That makes it a Volkswagon, NOT a Ferrari. The balls on this fuckin' guy. That said, I shall now watch the footage. Balls!

Okay, the link to the official site takes me back to BD.com. Nice. And Pilato kicks ass and is cool to talk to. Glad he's on this.

Perhaps I misinterpreted "test render" and there is no vid. My bad.

Zombieland kinda raised the bar with zombie films, even though it was a comedy as well, it'll be tough to follow. Hope this shit is good.

aside from NixEclipse talking to himself this page is making me think it would be pretty cool, although I prefer non anime type stuff but I am open minded when it comes to the zombie scene so all I want now is more infO!

I'm trying to be positive here...NOTLD is my all-time favorite...but this one rendering/screen shot doesn't look any better than what we already get from the Resident Evil games. I mean this new process that blasts all previous CGIs out of the water...I'm not feeling it. I know it is one pic...but I'm going to need more proof to fully get behind this one. Something else unsettling is that this is NOTLD: Origins, yet is set in the present time, telling about the origins of characters from over 40 years ago...?
