Arriving in stores today are the DVD/Blu-ray releases of the highly anticipated Trick 'r Treat and Ghost House Underground/Lionsgate's The Children, Offspring, The Thaw and Seventh Moon. Then there's the remake of It's Alive, Thomas Jane's Dark Country and the new DVD release of The Gate. But that's just the tip of the iceberg, read on for the full list.

Tex Says: This new DVD and Blu-ray issue of Takashi Miike's masterwork of the bizarre features 90-minutes of supplementary material plus audio commentary from legendary filmmaker. The film touts a new 1080P high-definition transfer from the internegative, with a new 5.0 digital stereo soundtrack mixed from the original audio elements. It neglects to mention however that it the film is not remastered even in the slightest so the 1080p transfer is far below the standards of most Blu-ray enthusiasts.

Both Phil and Katherine are on a collision course with revelations about their true natures.

TEX SAYS: At this point do I really need to say anything. Just go buy the freaking movie...you've been waiting 2-years for it.
The Blu-ray has ALL of the extras!! The only "extra" on the DVD is an animated short Mike Dougherty did a few years back. I am pissed that Warner Brothers not only dumped this gem straight to DVD but then screwed everyone who doesn't own a Blu-ray.
Picked up Trick r Treat on blu, Dark Country, and the Children on DVD. Will pick up The Gate, It's Alive, and probably Children of the Corn. I really hope the Gate has an awesome transfer.
I really thought the children was awesome...the ending comes this close to making it a classic. I'll probably pick it up, I bought Trick r Treat today on dvd...I refuse to shell out 10 extra bucks for blu unless its really worth it(watchmen blu...that was worth it) trick r treat is already one of my all time favourite movies & Ive only watched it once...its that good, I cant wait to watch it again.
Trick 'r Treat was excellent and is the perfect film for Halloween. Now I just need to get that Sam figure and I'll be happy...
