The winner of the audience award at the "Midnight Madness" portion of the Toronto International Film Festival, Sean Byrne's The Loved Ones (review) is a creepy, bloody and violent horror thriller in the vein of Texas Chainsaw Massacre and People Under the Stairs. Beyond the break you'll find the first official promo one sheet for the film that follows Brent, a 17 year old student, still grieving for his father, declines an invitation to the school formal from Lola, the quietest girl in school. When Lola and her father kidnap Brent he must fight to survive the macabre celebration they have in store for him.
That nasty font makes it look like an MTV reality show. Serious films don't need Photoshopped, 3-d, cheesy fonts. Any kid could do that. Keep it simple- less is more.
The movie sounds pretty good, but the poster almost kills it.
The font looks like my super sweet 16, and don't even get me started on how sears portrait studio she looks.
i've seen better posters... but the movie seems good.
