According to Box Office Mojo, Warner Bros. Pictures is planning on shooting Friday the 13th Part 2 in 3D. They also confirm the planned release date of August 13, 2010. Who would have thought we'd make it the 13th Friday and that it would be in 3D? No other details are revealed about Jason Voorhees' forthcoming sequel other than that the opening is said to take place in the winter with snow on the ground. Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, who wrote this year's remake, are penning the sequel. What do you guys think? Talk below.

I, for one, can't wait for F13 part 2. I love the idea of the winter setting in Crystal Lake.

It's like they know the sequel is going to be absolute shit, so they might as well make it 3D so some enjoyment can be had out of it.

are you god damn kidding me. this new 3D craze is already getting out of hand. i would rather see this in 3D than Halloween though... on the other hand, i would be really excited for a F13 in the winter

as I said before, I will be at the theater opening night regardless. Jason = awesome. 3D makes it that much cooler. Maybe this will encourage them to have cool and unique deaths.

I think they should save the 3D for the inevitable 3rd movie...but I like the idea of a winter setting, those are very rare in horror movies these days. However, I hope they have the entire movie set in winter instead of just the opening. No matter what happens, though, I'm definitely gonna be there opening night.

Can't wait for the sequel. The remake was badass. I Don't wanna see an all winter setting though. I hope the snow thing is only in a scene or two. We NEED to see Jason killing summer camp counsolers. We should wait until Part 3 for the 3D.

I really think they could do without the 3D gimmick... I haven't seen a 3D movie that actually worked since the old black and white Creature from the black lagoon with the 3D glasses.

This'll be awesome. I wish the entire remake series would be in 3-D rather than just the sequels, but whatever. I also agree that the entire thing should be shot in the winter. That would be so much different than anything they've ever done. Cant wait to see this!

The same sh*tty writers that did the sh*tty remake? It just proves they are not listening to the fans and don't plan on making this one any better. 3-D will not be enough to help it.

I like Friday movies and I will likely see this, but let me guess it now take place during winter(snow new idea) Jason is killing ppl who come to his home who hear a story about a boy who drown here and should stay away(old story) no name piss poor actors/actress(old idea) in 3D(played out already). Glad they least made Jason bad ass but seriously 3D is old why aren't we into 4D GOD! lol

the opening takes place in the snow? thats just a tease, either give us a full on winter jason or stick to the formula. the last one for that matter hardly took place in "crystal lake"

It is NOT confirmed that they will be filming this in 3-D. Brad does, however, express his hopes that New Line decides to: ShockTillYouDrop: Friday the 13th Part 2 in 3-D? Source:Ryan Rotten, Managing Editor October 3, 2009 Why wait for a third chapter in Platinum Dunes' reboot of the Friday the 13th to explore 3-D when you can do it for "Part 2"? This is what PD's Brad Fuller tells us, "I can't tell you anything about 3-D because New Line has not green lighted the movie because we haven't completed the script. So, we are waiting for the script to come in - then they'll budget- then they'll make a decision about 3-D. Having said that I really hope that is they decide that make it in 3-D." The Platinum Dunes-produced sequel, if all goes well, is due on August 13, 2010.

I really like the idea of winter however, I am not looking forward to 3D

Winter is cool...be nice to see all that blood on the snow, instead of being lost in the dirt. Like Alice Cooper said; 'In my eyes blood drops look like roses on white lace.' Jason in the winter is brilliant.

a snowy landscape would be really cool if done the right way
