This afternoon Sony Screen Gems provided Bloody Disgusting with 25 hi-res stills from Nelson McCormick's forthcoming remake of The Stepfather, which arrives in theaters October 16. The images range from Dylan Walsh with a knife to Amber Heard in a bikini (woo!). In the film Michael Harding (Penn Badgley) returns home from military school to find his mother (Sela Ward) happily in love and living with her new boyfriend, David (Dylan Walsh). As the two men get to know each other, Michael becomes more and more suspicious of the man who is always there with a helpful hand. Is he really the man of her dreams or could David be hiding a dark side?

This remake reminds me too much of 'Disturbia' for some reason ... it doesn't really appeal to me. I'll probably wait until it's on DVD.

It's hard to have faith in this with the same writer/director as the painful, horrible Prom Night remake. I can get past the PG13 since I prefer suspense and good acting over blood/gore and a high body count. The trailer doesn't look too bad, it may be decent to good? I wish Amber would have been the stepdaughter instead of the girlfriend, but she seems to have a big role just the same. We will see.
