Full Story Details for ‘The Gate’ 3D Remake

Bloody Disgusting just got their hands on the synopsis for The Gate, Alex Winter’s 3D remake of the classic cult hit The Gate from 1987 that was the feature film debut of Stephen Dorff. With a screenplay by Kerric Macdonald, the film is said to begin lensing late this year, early next. We’ll keep you posted when casting is officially announced, but until then why don’t you dig on the synopsis?
The remake invokes the original spirit but with updated characters and of course more elaborate special effects. The feeling of the story is one of adventure with some terrifying thrills.

It revolves around Miles and Terry who live in a typical suburban tract. One day, they discover a mysterious crystalline rock in Miles’ backyard, they quickly dig up the lawn in search of more. But instead, they unearth The Gate – the opening to an underground chamber containing terrifying evil. The boys soon realize what they have unleashed, as one dire event follows another. With supernatural fiends invading suburbia, it’s up to the kids to find the secret that will lock forever THE GATE…If it is not too late.

‘Mind Body Spirit’ Exclusive Trailer – Get Twisted with Found Footage Yoga Horror Movie in May

A yoga influencer discovers just how flexible fear can be in Mind Body Spirit, a new found footage horror movie that Welcome Villain Films is bringing to the table in a couple weeks.

Mind Body Spirit will release on Digital outlets May 7.

In Mind Body Spirit, “Anya, an aspiring yoga influencer, embarks on a ritual practice left behind by her estranged grandmother. She documents the practice on her YouTube channel for the world to watch, allowing her audience intimate access to her journey.

“But what starts as a spiritual self-help guide evolves into something much more sinister. As Anya becomes obsessed with the mysterious power of the practice, she unwittingly unleashes an otherworldly entity that begins to take control of her life – and her videos. Now Anya must race to unlock the truth, before her descent into madness threatens to consume her mind, body and spirit. By the time she reveals the true nature of the ritual, will it be too late?”

Mind Body Spirit was written and directed by Alex Henes & Matthew Merenda.
