UPDATE #2: Hoffman NOT in 'Let Me In', Remake Retitled to WHAT?!

UPDATE #1: Bloody Disgusting made a few phone calls and is sad to report that Philip Seymour Hoffman has NOT been cast in the remake. Rumor debunked. UPDATE #2: Production Weekly is reporting that filming begins first week of November in New Mexico and that the new title is officially Fish Head. Yeah, explain that one to me. Earlier today it was rumored that Philip Seymour Hoffman had been cast in Let Me In (now apparently "Fish Head"), Overture FIlms' remake of Let the Right One In. Already on board as Kody Smit McPhee (The Road) who will play Owen (formerly Oskar), alongside Kick Ass' Chloe Moretz, who nabbed the part of Abby (formerly Eli). Let Me In is a direct adaptation of the book and not a direct remake of the Swedish movie. In the film Oskar, an overlooked and bullied boy, finds love and revenge through Eli, a beautiful but peculiar girl who turns out to be a vampire.

ouuh yeah Chloe Moretz is a great one, thank god it wasnt dakota fanning(too tall anyways) or some other girl, this one actually knows how to act serious.

If they're doing the book instead of the movie, does that mean Hoffman will be playing a paedophile zombie with a permanent erection?

God damn it Mr_Strppy...i bloody hope so.

Philip's being cast would be great. and Chloe is a VERY good little actress. she was EXCELLENT (and not the least bit annoying like many child actors can be) in WICKED LITTLE THINGS. so even though LTROI doesn't need a remake, the casting so far is pretty good.

After reading the updated news, I'm sure he would play a convincing Hakan.

Chloe is a good choice. Hate the boy though. Let Me In is the correct title of the book. Was completely against a remake of the masterful, best hooror film of the decade, however if they do a faithful job of the book which is very multi-layered and which Let the Right One In is only a part, it could have merit. PSH would be excellent as Hakan especially if they really dwelve into his character,

i hope they cancel the whole thing!

that's too bad about Hoffman but at least Chloe is a good choice for Abby/Eli. i wonder if they are still going to go in to her/his castration. Chloe DOES NOT look remotely boyish at all.

They should definitely do the book and not the movie. The movie was good in its own rights, however there was a huge subplot left out that would be great in a movie.

"Let Me In" is the American title of the novel. The original title is "Let the Right One In". I guess the US publishers thought the original title was too long. "Let Me In" sounds stupid and is a really crappy title. It also changes the whole point of the movie.

The original was good but really over rated so I'm not expecting much

Fish Head? How does that even make sense? Somebody is pulling your guys' chains lol.

Let the right one in wasn't the best title ever. I don't understand why they named it Fish Head but i think it sounds better.

What?!?

Fish Head? Is that a joke?

"Let The Right One In" is from the Morrissey song. As in: "Let the right one slip in/And when at last it does/I'd say you were within your rights to bite"

Fish Head? really?

Bloody Disgusting, you of all people I would expect you guys to understand that some films use fake working titles to avoid attention.
