Lame poster. Doesn't look horror at all. But, you can't judge a book by it's cover, or in this case a movie by its poster.

Family Horror? I don't think that should be a genre ...

Really? Family horror is awesome. You dont like Monster House or Gremlins? Jurassic Park?

Wow, that is one terrible poster.

LMAO! I don't why but this one sheet makes me laugh, maybe its the guys face.

Yeah seriously. The poster is lame. But Bruce Dern is in it and it's helmed by Joe Dante so I'm definitely expecting it to rock; shitty poster or not.

I didn't realize that this was a "family horror" movie. I'm still curious, just less.

This has DTV written all over it. Probably the least inspired movie poster I've seen in a while. It doesn't give you the slightest idea what its about. Too bad Dante couldn't get more of his typical movie alum in this than just Bruce Dern. Henry Gibson maybe (before he passed away) or Dick Miller.

LOL. and Dante had the nerve to make snide comments about "Pixar-like" piranhas in Aja's PIRANHA 3D?!! LOL. ironically ALL Dante has done in the past many years has been CARTOONS and CSI:MIAMI! and yet here is bashing Aja and doing.....A FAMILY FILM (might as well continue doing cartoons).

Absolutely terrible poster but I'm going to give it a pass because I love the first film.

lol! The guy with the 70's hair do makes it such a cheesy poster! ha!

Midnight Crow

Eh, I've always considered Gremlins a Dark Comedy or something along those lines, and Jurassic Park a Thriller.

Oh comeone guys! We're talking about Joe Dante here. For all we know, this could be an awesome combination of The Gate, The Goonies, and Monster Squad. It's in that same sub-genre. Family horror can be great if handled correctly. So, this isn't going to be High Tension or Martyrs. So what? A movie like this doesn't have to be! Dante is obviously aiming for fun here, like he did with Gremlins, Gremlins 2, and Innerspace. Lighten the fuck up, please.

That's one crappy poster. It looks like it's trying to advertise something for Disney Channel. The old poster with the creepy basement and the clown doll was way better, and more "horror", IMO. At least, in the first one, it told you everything you needed to know about the movie. "A big creepy ass hole in the middle of the basement and creepy looking clown doll!". This is like they are trying to cater to Twilight tweens. Oooo, the guy's sooooooo dreamy! Look at the girl's hair, blowing in the wind! What's with them glowing?

Speaking of Joe Dante, Henry Gibson who played Dr. Klopek in Joe Dante's The 'burbs sadly passed away today... As a kid I really liked Henry Gibson's quirky characters he played and I'm sure I was the only 15 year old out there that sought out movies with him starring. He was an underrated actor. I know this is off topic but unfortunately no one has mentioned it other than imdb.

LOL...I'm sorry, I can't get over that title!! (My immaturity is showing)

I have nothing but high hopes for this movie, but this poster is possibly the worst I've ever seen for any movie, anywhere. WTF?

Damnit people! Joe Dante! Joe! Dante! Do I need to list MORE of his films? The 'burbs, Small Soldiers, The Explorers. Guys, family horror/adventure is HIS genre. Sure, the poster sucks but comeon. Just because the guy made Looney Tunes: Back in Action, everybody hates him. Every director has a slip up or two. Need I remind you Alex Aja made Mirrors?

yikes, that's bad. I just became uninterested.

Joe Dante happens to be one of my fave directors. Not a film he has made that I didn't like. Call me crazy but Looney Tunes: Back In Action was a faithful and loving tribute. Also, had a great Jerry Goldsmith score. The poster for The Hole is just about as shitty as a poster can get. A complete generic hack job that has nothing interesting to say. And as a poster artwork enthusiast I can officially say this is one of the worst and most uninteresting posters to ever grace the walls of a cinema. However, because 'The Hole' is directed by the great Joe Dante, I will see it while forgetting about this poster which I'm sure even Joe Dante would disapprove of.

Which hole are they talking about? Are they talking about the woman's hole aor the guys hole?

I see some twelve year olds have invaded the website... Poster sucks, but I trust Joe Dante's skills, so I'm there.
