'Werewolf: The Complete Series' Cancelled

In a sad turn of events, Shout! Factory's Werewolf box set has been canceled. Back in August, word came from the company that the set was being delayed to 2010 due to music right issues. However, it doesn't look like those rights were worked out and they have indeed caused the entire release to be abandoned. It's a shame that an entire set had to be canceled due to two artists holding out but it looks like those bootlegs of TV broadcasts are going to be the only way you'll be able to relive the series.

According to the webmaster of the Werewolf Yahoo Group, "The Shout Factory had to cancel the release because of two artists (which will remain unnamed) that would not play ball. Sony does not have the individual audio tracks, so they were unable to replace the songs, as the audio was mixed together. The two songs were featured over dialogue scenes that could not be cut. The Shout Factory's only option, even after spending a lot of time and money on it, was to cancel it and give the title back to Sony. If Sony had the audio tracks, it would have been easy to replace the two songs."

I heard about this a few days ago. It sucks, but I am glad it was not butchered just for the sake of being released. I will have to hunt down the bootlegs now and tell those music artists who did no play ball to go suck it.

this was such a rollercoaster with the highs pointing to a solid release and now this...total derailment. This was probably the case of two unknown bands who were trying to desperately grasp at their last change of getting easy residual checks and blew it by being greedy.

first off UNRATED, eat your own ya little puss* second off one of the so called "artist" was Mike & the mechanics they sucked anyways, but im sure they could of used the money seeing as how Phil Collins was the only one with any talent in the bunch. werewolf was a badass show back when i was a little kid & those douche bags who ruined it are losers anyways and ive already got bootleg VHS's and ill be getting a better quality DVD version soon & i wont have to pay ANYONE but my friend whos gonna burn them. so SCREW the music industry ill still get it and they cant do jack sh*t about it.

Mike & The Mechanics? Oh god, I never could stand them. Peter Gabriel's worst album is still far superior than anything those losers could have ever pulled out of their ass.
