We've got a little piece of news regarding the forthcoming trailer debut for The Cabin in the Woods, MGM's high concept slasher film arriving in theaters next February. Co-writer and producer Joss Whedon tells Sci Fi Wire, "We're talking about what they're going to show, and they'll start giving up some information to get people into the theaters. We're working on that now. Should be soon." Bloody Disgusting did some checking and learned that plans are to release the trailer at the end of October. Details are still being ironed out. Directed by Drew Goddard (Coverfield), the "Cabin" story line provides a new twist on a classic scenario -- in this case the young-people-stranded-in-the-woods horror trope. Last year, the trailers/teasers for Friday the 13th and My Bloody Valentine 3D were released with Saw V. I bet the trailer for this, NOES, and a new one for Daybreakers (from Lionsgate like Saw) will be with Saw VI.
