Out and about promoting her upcoming horror film Jennifer's Body, director Karyn Kusama revealed some very interesting news to io9 that are sure to interest genre fans. Apparently, the director is looking to get behind the camera for a "Cronenberg-esque" horror project that would star the beautiful Rachel Weisz (The Mummy). Read on for the skinny.
"There's a screenplay I wrote a while a go with a partner that has a sort of element of horror, although I would call it a psychological horror in the David Cronenberg tradition, that I'm tying to get made," Kusama tells Io9.
She continues, "It definitely does fall into sort of a body horror movie that deals very, very specifically with our concept of gender. I can't really talk to you specifically about it other than to say that Rachel Weisz is attached to the film."
No more details revealed, but we'll keep you posted.
The problem of doing a cronenberg type of movie is you have to be david cronenberg, every attempt Ive seen to mimic him has failed. Good to see weisz doing some more stuff to not only have I always thought she was the most beautiful woman (tied with jennifer connely) but she is a good actress. That pic of her is awful though.
Damn. What promo picture is that from/for? And personally, I've always found Rachel Weisz a hit or miss actress for me. However, I personally think she was stellar in The Fountain. Here's hoping her acting talents are fully realized in this upcoming project.
she crazy as hell!! with that big ass snake around her!!! yeah she can do any horror project bc she got more balls than me!
