One of the few panels I managed to catch in Hall H at this year's San Diego Comic Con was for Solomon Kane, based on Robert (Conan) Howard's character. While it's more fantasy than horror, there are certainly some creepy elements at play; we saw a pretty sweet scene where Kane (James Purefoy) is knocked into a pit of what looked like mutant zombies. With a good supporting cast (Pete Postlethwaite!) and some pretty impressive effects, it looks like a damn good time. IGN has the new trailer, head on over to check it out or watch it here below the break.
It looks like it might be pretty good but for every part I liked there was some generic styled action CG action scenes straight out of like van helsing. Im willing to give it a shot though.
I've ripped out several clumps of hair over those ads lagging my browser to shit, so yea they're a tad annoying. Also, this movie will probably be the greatest movie in the history of movies. More competent directors need to make use of Robert E. Howard's legendary characters.
Fantastic stuff, even though they've strayed a bit from the source material the look and feel are spot on.
Also loving that Purefoy seems to be going for a west country accent.
Looks great, been waiting a few years for this. Can't see how its straying from the stories though, not from this trailer at least. The comparisons to Van Helsing are annoying...why, because of the hat?
Excellent preview of what appears to be a well filmed and written screenplay. I em really excited to see if the entire movie can pull together such poetic dialogue.
Reminds me of Underworld also but this looks good.
