Opening in limited theaters tomorrow is Rob Zombie's The Haunted World of El Superbeasto, which also arrives on DVD and Blu-ray September 22 from Anchor Bay/Starz. The 2-D animated comedy, based on the Spookshow International comic book "The Haunted World of El Superbeasto" created by Zombie, follows the exploits of a washed-up Mexican wrestler, El Superbeasto, in the mythic world of Monsterland. I hope the final product turns out to be better than the trailers Ive seen so far. Everything Ive seen so far just looks like some generic crap youd see on late night adult swim or something. I want to be interested in this but I just cant muster it up.
It's a mix of Ren and Stimpy and Stripperella. Call me when Zombie has an original idea.
