John and Paul Buckholts of Our Thing Productions e-mailed us to break a double-dose of delicous news. First, the duo have acquired the rights to adapt Stephen King's short story Home Delivery (from "Nightmares and Dreamscapes"), which has The Midnight Meat Train director Ryuhei Kitamura attached to direct. You can get the plot crunch beyond the break. In addition, the brothers are writing and producing a WWII vampire film entitled The Bleeding with Martin Weisz (The Hills Have Eyes 2) directing. Both films are in the early stages of development.

HOME DELIVERY: Maddie Pace is a young, pregnant widow whose husband recently died in a fishing boat accident. When reanimated dead bodies start attacking the living, the only defense is to destroy the dead and burn the pieces. It isn’t long before Maddie must confront the zombie of her dead husband and decide if she is strong enough to watch him die all over again.

Home Delivery is a great story. I first read it when it appeared in The Book Of the Dead anthology.

Feeling a little anxious about home delivery. WWII vampires...has been done over and over in the video games, I guess why not the movies.

Not quite understanding why Kitamura is only being attatched to horror films stateside. Although a few of his jap films had horror elements, he's generally considered an action director. Still, liked all his work so far and will be looking forward to this.
