Dimension Films just announced that you'll be taking a trip down the post-apocalyptic The Road on November 25, one month later than originally planned. Directed by John Hillcoat and starring Viggo Mortensen, Charlize Theron, Guy Pearce, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Robert Duvall, the story centers on a man who embarks on a nightmarish road trip after a nuclear explosion in an attempt to transport his son to safety while fending off cannibals.

The clips they have posted on youtube are really fucking good. I've been waiting for this movie to grace my eyes for a god damn year already, I was beyond stoked that next month I'll finally be seeing The Road.. But they scanned my mind and figured out the easiest way to bum me out to the max is to push the movie one more month.. Thanks Dimension.

I can't wait to see it. Looks great and love the cast. Now if they would just leave the fucking release date alone. Been waiting over a year for this now. Plus I hear it's getting rave reviews on the festival rounds recently

the book is amazing...dark, so wonderfully dark. hopefully the movie keeps this tone - and by the looks of the clips it will.

I have a hard time with his books. I don't know if it's his lack of punctuation or what but I have tried to read the Road and No Country for Old Men but haven't been able to. Think the movie will be great No country was.

Hope the movie is better than the book, because it was GARBAGE! Uh...greekthunder up there seems to be a fan, but it was a big miss with me. So much potential. A father and son making their ways through a wasteland with cannibals and shit. Then BAM! Nothing. the book had no impact. Everyone kept saying how fucked up the book was, thats why I picked it up. The writting style is annoying, and it was BORING. They were cold a lot and pushed a shopping cart around filled with trash. Those are called hobos in my town. My idea of shocking must be very different than other peoples.

silverfall: i dare say you missed the point of the book entirely.. Whether you were lead to believe it was something its not by some other people i cannot say, however; the book is obviously a post apocalyptic DRAMA.. If yer looking for gore and large amounts of violence you're looking in the wrong place. The book is meant to give the reader a sense of the extreme hopelessness that the characters are experiencing. Also there is the struggle to withhold some sense of morality in a depraved and destroyed world.. Its too bad you were in search of something that was never intended to be there. Also no where in the book does it say anything about what happened to cause the world to become how it is so the speculation that it was nuclear explosion is only that.. speculation. Ive heard some great reviews about the movie adaptation but the lack of ash in the trailer leaves me a bit miffed. Ash was one of the main parts of the story.. It covered practically everything and really conveyed how far gone the world really was. Still with a score by Nick Cave and an incredibly high calibre set of actors i hold on to hope.
