SEA OF DUST is proud to announce its receipt of the “Best of the Fest” Award from Kentucky’s esteemed Fright Night Film Festival. Hailed “the largest genre festival in mid-America,” Fright Night featured SEA OF DUST as its keystone Friday night projection on August 14th. SEA OF DUST is a “surreal and bizarre tribute to the European horror cinema of the 1960s” starring genre icons Tom Savini (FROM DUSK TIL DAWN, GRINDHOUSE) and Ingrid Pitt (THE VAMPIRE LOVERS, COUNTESS DRACULA) in the tale of an other-worldly evil that threatens to possess humanity. The satirical film features the contributions of Stuart ‘Multiple Miggs’ Rudin (SILENCE OF THE LAMBS) and venerated musician Stephen Malkmus (PAVEMENT).
The Fright Night Award marked SEA OF DUST ’s second U.S. festival win, following its Best Picture Grand Prize at the Rhode Island International Film Festival (RIIFF).
Famed French filmmaker Jean Rollin, the visionary behind such milestones of the fantastique as LIPS OF BLOOD and THE LIVING DEAD GIRL, recently lauded the film as “mysterious, enigmatic and full of promise.”
Joe ‘The Phantom of the Movies’ Kane, editor of Videoscope Magazine, has called SEA “very imaginative (without stinting on the blood and gore). The Hammer-like production design is impressive.”
Visit the film’s official site (www.seaofdust.com) to see why SEA has been hailed a “one of a kind film, as there is nothing else out there that is remotely similar to this” ( Gorezone Magazine , UK ).
Wow - its awesome to see Savini back and doing his old (best) style of FX again. Reminds me of the great 80's slashers, when you couldnt wait to see the next injury and how real it looked (before CGI, kids). I cant wait for this one.
is it just me, or does Tom Savini look like Dante from Clerks? Anyway, I like how this is purposely made to look like a 70s horror film. The gore look great!

This looks like a great cheese-fest, i can't wait!! I really wish Savini would decide to do some FX work again, preferable on a Romero film, but atleast we are seeing him on film, his charisma is great!!
