Ultra Violent DC Character 'Lobo' Gets PG-13 Big Screen Treatment!

Unless I change my mind, this will be the ONLY post I ever make about DC Comics' live-action adaptation of Lobo, which is being produced by Silver Pictures and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. While I jumped out of my seat when I heard Guy Ritchie was getting behind the camera, the following made my stomach turn sour immediately. "WB is aiming for a PG-13 rating. Pic will be strong on visual effects..." Seriously? As far as I'm concerned this project can eff off. In the film, he is a seven-foot tall, blue-skinned, indestructible and heavily muscled anti-hero who drives a pimped out motorcycle, and lands on Earth in search of four fugitives who are bent on wreaking havoc. Lobo teams with a small town teenaged girl to stop the creatures.

This is the most retarded thing I've ever heard. There is nothing 'PG-13' about The Main Man! Wtf is going on with Hollywood and them raping everything?

Frag them fraggin bastiches. That would be completely exciting news if not for the pg-13. Bite me, fanboy.

Cue thousands of douchebags dressing up as Lobo in a couple of years at Halloween. This depresses me greatly.

I doubt Guy Ritchie will be attached to this for long. The PG-13 rating blows.

I guess we can thank Watchmen for this one. They believe that the only way to get people in the seats is to make it PG-13.

I would say this sucks, but 'The Dark Knight' and 'Hellboy' were PG-13 and they kicked ass. It will definitely limit what they cando with it but if done properly it could still be good.

Dude... is this real? I mean really real? What the deuce, the most violent of the violent comic heroes of all time... PG-13?! I'm so done with Hollywood right now... Sure, The Dark Knight and Hellboy were good examples of PG-13 being dark and awesome, but this is fucking LOBO!! Have these assclowns even read an issue of the comic book? Just because he was in some issues of Superman does NOT make the character kid-friendly. And that plot? Lobo teaming up with a teenaged Earth girl?! What the FUCK?! I'm passing on this bullshit already...

Yup, Watchmen failed at the box office...so the future of "mature" comic/graphic novel movies will be PG-13 so the noisy, cell phone addicted little fuckers can shell out their money for yet another movie they'd rather talk or text their way through.

BOOOOO!!!!!! WTF is right, Prof. I'm with you on TDK and HB but there is no way anything good that we can hope for with a PG-13 rating. The comic books aren't even PG-13. Thanks Hollywood for fucking up yet another classic.

Crap for the story they are aiming and double crap for the pg-13 on LOBO!

What the hell does this have to do with horror? I mean yeah lobo is violent, but so are alot of action movies but they dont all get listed here do they?

Booooooo, so lame. We can thank Watchmen and Punisher: War Zone, like you fine people said.. Though I am a big fan of both films. PG-13 still doesn't curb my excitement for this for some reason though, Drag Me to Hell was PG-13 and I enjoyed it just fine. Sure, Lobo is very violent but I think someone like Ritchie could stylize this the right way. But maybe I'm just too optimistic.

Lobo is like the deadpool of DC but cooler by far he action movies aren't violent really now a days infact they're pretty tame. Lobo did make an appearance in the 1990's superman:TAS and it was pretty tame but still got through that Lobo was badass. I always though he was a very light grey but I guess blue is cool too

Yeah he showed up in the Justice League cartoon and he was still badass in it as well. I think it just depends on how they treat the character, cuz he could still be badass in pg13

Lobo is a basically indestructible creature of pure Id. He killed everyone on his home world so he could be unique. He killed Santa. He killed "Gawd". He killed all of his children. This does not equal PG-13, unless the MPAA suddenly changes their restrictions on chain-hook disembowlments.

Get used to it. Hollywood is aimed at the disposable income short attention span under 20 crowd. Couple this with Disney buying Marvel and there goes any chance at decent comicbook movies. It'll be "l'il Hulk" and "Spidey and His Pals". When are they gonna get that comics today are aimed at adults? My bud owns a comicshop and he'll tell ya the kids by card games, never comics. Comics are bought by the 20-30 somethings. PG13 for a biker bountyhunter who kills 1st and asks questions later? Suck my balls.

"lands on Earth in search of four fugitives who are bent on wreaking havoc. Lobo teams with a small town teenaged girl to stop the creatures." so... it's the MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE movie, with Lobo instead of He-Man.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! I dont ever wish anything to bomb, but this NEEDS to bomb to TEACH hollywood a lesson. You cant water down EVERYTHING!!! Lobo isnt for tweens, its for LOBO and comicbook fans!! Come on...

Lobo movie good....PG13, teems up with teen girl BS bad!!

Lobo is my favorite comic book character of all time. I thought they'd never make Lobo into a film. I almost had a fucking heart attack when I saw headlined Guy Ritchie and Lobo. If they can make this movie at pg-13 and still show Lobo pulling peoples spines out by reaching down their throat, and using his big hook and chain to fucking rip people in half then sure, whatever. If they can't then it won't be LOBO.. Cause he's mean and ruthless, and likes hot naked chicks. Has to be R rated.

SO its watchman sort of.... LOL I will skip out if it's R maybe I will watch it. PG-13 I will maybe rent it or watch it on TV

if he teams up with the girl and becomes all sensitive when alone with here that will effectively kill Lobo

Rambo Lunchbox

In the hands of a less talented director Lobo would more than likely become another Punisher War Zone. Trust me, this is the best thing that could happen to this less than interesting character.
