Bloody Disgusting learned tonight exclusively that Rebecca DeMornay (Identity, "The Shining" mini-series) has been tapped to topline Darren Lynn Bousman's Mother's Day, which begins lensing next week in Winnipeg, Canada. She will play the mother. She stars alongside the previously announced Deborah Ann Woll, Briana Evigan, Alexa Vega, Shawn Ashmore, Matt O'Leary, Lyriq Bent and Lisa Marcos. Written by Scott Milam, the remake of the classic 80's Troma film follows three brothers on the run from the law head for home, only to discover that their mother lost the house in a foreclosure. Mother ingeniously orchestrates her sons' escape, teaching the house's new owners and their guests a few lessons along the way.
Well, this is an older picture. She's getting up there and considering the age of the other actors in the film, it makes better sense than someone in their sixties. It's Mother's Day, not Grandmother's Day. She was an evil bitch in Hand That Rocks The Cradle, so this could be cool.
Wow I love Rebecca! I didn't think she would star in a horror remake. The Shining was one thing, but Mother's Day? Oh well, I'm glad to see her again just the same! :-) Hand That Rocks the Cradle is one of my favorites!

OMG! YESSSSSS!!!!God I have loved her since the hand that rocks the cradle! She is amazing especially when playing evil like the above and never talk to strangers and one with keither sutherland years ago.can't remember the name but she hot and amazing but im sure they will make her less milfy plus Identity has been a while so maybe she's aged more.She's great though one of my all time favs! Can't wait for sure now with her and Briana!

Great news! I think she will be perfect for the role! I hope they make this movie dark and gritty. It better not be like the crappy remake of Last House on The Left. Plz do this cult classic justice!!
