Bloody Disgusting is being told that Nikolaj Arcel (Island of Lost Souls ) is looking to direct Dead Man, a Crow-esque adaptation for Warner Bros. Pictures. Guillermo del Toro is set to produce the pic that follows a a circus tightrope walker who is murdered and returns as a ghost with the ability to inhabit the bodies if others in order to find his killer. We're being told this is based on the DC character "Deadman" that first appeared in Strange Adventures #205 (October 1967). You can read more about him here or read on for a pic.

Sounds kinda cool, but it seems like such an obscure character to get a movie.

Ah, I remember where I've seen him. His Kingdom Come design was awesome, he had the same costume but he was a skeleton.

Come on with Del Toro's plate as full as it is how far out would this be? Besides that why such a random character is right.

Deadman fits Del Toro to a tee most of his characters die or are dead in his original movies. Now this is interesting given his powers

Del Toro is such a brilliant talent I think he could take any obscure comic character and make it something special.

Whatever happened to that Crow reboot anyway?.....

Obscure character? Deadman is still one of the main players, especially as of late in the DC Universe. Ties with Batman for my favorite DC heroes! This will be good...

I love Deadman and I'm very excited for this movie! I agree with you completely Greekthunder.

Not for the masses. Another thing not for the masses....Rob Zombie's Halloween 2. Please people, just stay away. I don't have stock in Warner Bros. I will not see Final Destination 4 in theatres. I'm just trying to save you the utter anguish I sat through...

It's nice to see Deadman getting some love. Also, he is VERY relevant. Especially in the current DCU even, Blackest Night.

Why is everybody ragging on Deadman!? He's a G with little to no mercy
