I can understand how a die hard HALLOWEEN fan cannot accept RZ's vision of the franchise. This could have been given to another director who could have made this better or worse, we will never know. But let's not forget that RZ was given the keys to this franchise to do with what he pleased, and anybody that has seen his style of grindhouse, 70's style of filming should not be surprised where he was going with this. I have said and will continue to say that I'll take RZ's version over any of the pathetic sequels from #4 thru Resurection. Just awful. JC's will ALWAYS be the best, so I'm ok with whatever they decide to do. This is nothing new, Hollywood has been remaking films from the past since the 70's in every genre, not just horror. Don't be shocked if they remake JAWS or the EXORCIST, which seems CRAZY, but makes perfect sense if your in the film industry to cash in on a new generation that did not grow up with these films and are seeing it for the first time. I say if it REALLY bother's you, don't see it. It's your only defense.

I don't understand. I see snow in a still. It doesn't matter if the image is a surreal glimpse of a delusional, deranged mind. There was no snow in the original. I hate snow. I hate Rob Zombie, his wife, his parents, his neighbors, everyone he has ever known. On a less strident note, you may have something there, Jonny. Those who cannot deal with this film have an easy way out; don't go. You know they will, though, so that 6 months worth of obsessive whining shall not have been in vain.

To be quite honest, I wasn't a die hard fan of the original Halloween's. Michael is on my least favorite slasher, behind Freddy, Jason and Leatherface. So, to see RZ do his own take on it, it's refreshing. I have been a big fan of his music since middle school, so to see him expand his visions, is exciting for me. I just don't know why he has to put ROB ZOMBIE'S in front of the title, for people to "get" that it's his own thing. I'll be there, first showing..

Your right PIKE. Even the biggest RZ opponents will no doubt see this movie. Wether you love it or hate it, it's the car crash you can't turn away from.

So if someone doesn't think H2 looks good, does that automatically make them a TFD fan? I don't think either film looks particularly good, but H2 looks weak.

Johnny, I do indeed hope that this is you. While some of the sequels were downright awful, that cannot automatically qualify as the end-all, be-all, of why ROB's vision is automatic genius. Personally I thought RZWeen was as bad or worse than most of the sequels. People seem to readily want to substitute gore and violence in place of quality, and that simply just isn't how it works. RZWeen was an absolute mess in terms of ROB's vision and story as well as in terms of a ton of amateur (shakycam anyone?) technical mistakes that really speak volumes as to this guy's ability to know the technical aspects of his craft.....Just because ROB put the ultraviolence on steroids doesn't automatically qualify that piece of cinematic sh%t as any more of a quality entry in the franchise. And yes, I will see it, if for no other reason than to craft the proverbial 100 reasons list......

It is me SAURON. I can see your point of view, but in my opinion, I simply can't stand those awful sequels from the 80's and RESURRECTION. I'll give a tip of the hat and a "Nice Try" to H2O for bringing back Jamie Lee, but it's still not very good. Overall, I was not that bothered by RZ's version. It kind of grew on me after a few viewings. I would totally agree that it could have been done better then what we got, but I still found it to be strangely entertaining on some levels. I don't have huge expectations this time around as I did last time, just hope that it's better.

funny thing PIKE, does it say John Carpenter's HALLOWEEN 2 in front of it? alright then, it DOESN'T. Rob Zombie can put snow in it if he likes considering it's HIS movie. this isn't "the original".

As Halloween fans here I think we all can say that it is "strange" to see snow in a Halloween movie. But in all honesty I would rather it snow than have a fucking white unicorn in the movie!
