Jacob Gentry, who was one of the three brains behind the Sundance smash-hit The Signal, has just completed production on a new horror feature for MTV Films entitled My Super Psycho Sweet 16, which will get a limited theatrical run and air on MTV this October. Written by Jed Elinoff and Scott Alan Thomas, a privileged teen's birthday bash at a roller rink is interrupted by a serial killer. The title and concept plays off the network's reality hit "My Super Sweet 16," which chronicles the lavish birthday parties of pampered kids.
Chris Zylka, Ric Reitz, Lauren McKnight, Matt Angel, Justin Price, Melanie Booth, Alex Van and Max Calder all star.
Urgh, just being associated with MTV makes it bad. MTV stopped being good when they turned their back on their purpose. Like VH1, they should just bite the bullet and change their names to RTV(Reality Television) and CR1(Celebrity Reality 1).
If they truly mock MTV's lameness and how ridiculously evil spoiled rich kids can be,then it could be a suprise hit.But I'll rent it after a good evening of boozing. The Signal was kickass.
Snoozefest. It would be better/funnier if the bitch teen was the psycho killer, murdering anyone who got in her way of having the BESTEST PARTY EVER.
