Time to kick start your week with a bunch of random stories in our latest News Bites segment. Beyond the break you can read about a special Halloween II promotion, check out the first 3 clips from "The Vampire Diaries" and dig on some crazy casting, including a rumor of a certain "Ni/Tuck" star joining the cast of Scream 4 (I'm sure it's a load of crap). Watch for more updates throughout the day.
A BEAUTIFUL ADDITION TO SCREAM?
Update #2: Writer Kevin Williamson has debunked this crapy rumor. "Anna Lynn thing is not true. She's awesome. But I'm still writing the script. No casting going on." Update: Apparently, a lot of websites are having trouble with giving proper credit as this story comes from Wiki, making it extremely unlikely. AnnaLynne McCord (pictured inside), the young sexy temptress of "Nip/Tuck" and star of the new "90210", is said to have been offered a role in Dimension Films' Scream 4, reports the Examiner. No other details were given, we'll keep you posted when it's officially confirmed. This far the only returning names are power couple David Arquette and Courteney Cox, who in the sequel now have a baby. As we reported earlier this year, this will be a "younger" version of the early Scream films from the 90's and will kick off a whole new trilogy. Wes Craven hasn't ruled out directing just yet. Thanks to BD reader 'ryanSTRODE' for the tip.
HALLOWEEN FUSION, SOUNDTRACK SPOILERS
In Fuse's first co-branded integration campaign with a film studio, the music-centered cable channel has teamed with the Weinstein Co. to promote the August 28 release of Halloween II. During the week of August 24, musician-turned-filmmaker Rob Zombie, who wrote and directed the 2007 "Halloween" and its upcoming sequel, will host an exclusive five minute commercial break at 5:05 p.m. that will include behind-the-scenes footage from the sequel.
Zombie, his wife Sheri Moon Zombie and the film will be featured in interviews, exclusive clips and integrated graphics in a number of Fuse programs, including "Loaded: Rob Zombie," featuring a half-hour of Zombie's greatest music videos, "Let It Rock," and "Full Volume Flicks."
In addition, BD reader 'Jason G.' e-mails us, "[Here's a] link to the Halloween II soundtrack with dialogue [that's] floating around the net...it samples each song but also has the actual dialogue of everyone in the film with a very BIG spoiler in the "Angel Myers" track so just letting you know, here is the link to check it out."
STRAW DOGS REMAKE LOADS UP
Rhys Coiro (The Unborn, "Entourage") will appear in Sony Screen Gems’ remake of Straw Dogs, directed by Rod Lurie. He stars alongside James Marsden, Kate Bosworth, Alexander Skarsgard, James Woods, Dominic Purcell and Willa Holland in the film arriving in theaters February 25, 2011.
The new Straw Dogs follows Los Angeles screenwriter David Sumner (Marsden), who moves with his wife to her hometown in the deep South. Once there, tensions build in their marriage and old conflicts re-emerge with the locals, leading to a violent confrontation.
LOS ANGELES BATTLE TO BEGIN
Battle: Los Angeles has added Adetokumboh M’Cormack (Blood Diamond) to its growing ensemble, which includes Aaron Eckhart and Bridget Moynahan. The pic is being helmed by Jonathan Liebesman (Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning). M’Cormack’s credits include roles on “24”, “Lost” and “Heroes.”
In the film a Marine platoon faces off against an alien invasion in Los Angeles.
MORE VAMPIRE DIARIES CASTING, CLIPS!
Chris J. Johnson (XXX: State of the Union) has been tapped for a major arc on “The Vampire Diaries” for the CW. He joins the show as a sharp-tongued reporter who becomes involved with one of the series leads. Johnson can be seen next in the indie Five Star Day.
The show is about a high school girl torn between two vampire brothers.
Cool looking so forward to this Friday for Halloween 2 and the final destination, great weekend for horror fans, Anna Lynne McCord is hot and would be a great addition to a new scream trilogy, damn i have a feeling it will still be years before we get scream 4 in theaters, at least probably not until late 2011 or 2012, hopefully sooner, shit it will be 10 years next year since the scream 3 and 14 years since scream 1, wow time fly's, i love the scream trilogy and i cant wait til scream 4 starts rolling.
i LOVE Anna Lynne i hope she's a part of the WHOLE movie of SCREAM 4. THEN i will become interested in the movie. i'm not interested in David or Courtney etc.....
Im amazed that people who hav defended Zombievision, think that the Scream triology sucked,ok part 3 did,but Scream was a classic slasher.Grossing over 100mil,and some of the best reviews ever for a horror film.Well I guess there is no accounting for taste.
lol....ok anyone to down the Scream films ESPECIALLY THE 1ST IS A IDIOT! They are the greatest! I'm just glad courteney and david are coming back. That Anna Lynne chick idk about.I seen her in The Haunting of Molly Hartley and well the whole film sucked sooo I can't really tell if she can act.But I think she would be a good 10 minute victim...but I'm hoping for like Megan Fox, Danielle Panabaker, Amanda Righetti, or Nikki Reed. They are all hot and can act!And young for the younger version like part one like they said they were doing.
Whoooow that was a huge spoiler on the Halloween soundtrack!! Sounds like Rob is taking the "Laurie" character and Halloween franchise into different territory which I think is great. People will be surprised when they listen to the Angel Myers track I thought it was talking about Sheri Moon Zombie but it isnt that at all haha wow
angel myers? wat kinda fukin name is that?
its the name a stripper mom would give to her baby whos older brother is a psychotic mass murderer....interesting.
