Having its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) next month is Joe Dante's The Hole, his 3-D family horror fantasy film we've been covering pretty closely here on the site. We're told horror fans should expect a family styled horror film, which is very true to most of Dante's films. Knowing is half the battle (no I didn't, oh no I didn't!). Below you'll find the first ever images, with a trailer to follow soon (hopefully). After moving into a new town, brothers Dane and Lucas and their neighbour Julie discover a bottomless hole in their basement that brings their nightmares to life. With shadows lurking around every corner, they must face their darkest fears in order to put an end to the mystery of the hole. Keep up with all of our TIFF coverage by clicking here. Now read on for the stills.

These were in the unofficial trailer Joe Dante showed us during his interview at Edinburgh Film Festival. it was just a trailer someone had cut together, not one intended for cinemas. Looks pretty interesting.
Seems very similar to The Gate, especially given that there is supposedly a 3D remake of The Gate on the way. Of course, the target age group, having never seen the original, will assume the remake of The Gate is ripping off The Hole.
Great news about Joe Dante's new film!
At MovieSet.com, we've posted a series of interviews from the set of The Hole with director and crew discussing the nuances of working in 3D and other neat info about the film plus a bunch more still photos we captured on set.
Check it all out along with <a href="http://www.movieset.com/thehole">more videos from 'The Hole 3D'</a> coming shortly. Of course, feel free to share with your audience if interested.
