Some new details have surfaced regarding Courteney Cox's character (TV reporter Gale Weathers) in Dimension Films' forthcoming Scream 4. "She has a kid now," Cox said in a group interview Saturday at the Television Critics Association summer press tour in Pasadena, Calif., courtesy of Sci Fi Wire. "She's married to Dewey." Scream 3 ended with Deputy Dewey (David Arquette, Cox's real-life husband) proposing to local newswoman-turned-true-crime guru Gale. Wes Craven recently asked Kevin on Twitter how the script was coming.
Kevin responded by saying " Halfway done. Gotta deal with some vampires first. "
Its a good sign that Wes and Kevin are some what communicating about Scream 4. The fact that Wes Craven reached out to see how the script was doing means he still has interest in doing it.
I think that's a good twist... I thought they would be married in this one for sure but I wouldn't have thought about kids... that's a really great suprise. I'm personally ecstatic that they are making another film. Scream may not be considered a classic to some but it is to me. It came out when I was a kid and it was the first horror movie I was actually allowed to watch and sat through the whole thing and loved. It revived the whole horror genre on it's own and spawned much of the horror in the '90s. And it was because of Scream that I watch the greatest horror film of all time (my fave).... HALLOWEEN.
That's very interesting! Can't wait for the official plot to be released. Nice to know Kevin's half way finished with the script! Hopefully by the end of the year, Craven will have read it and signed on and production would begin!
WOW I can't believe they are actually making more Scream movies!
I loved the first 3, and as long as Kevin, Wes, Neve, Courtney, and David are on board this will be awesome!
I wonder if this would be the start of a new trilogy of screams!?
great trilogy its gotta have craven directing it tho otherwise the spark will get p**sed on
