When there more horror than we can handle, we've got a news post dedicated to the tid-bits of news floating around the web. Yesterday we told you about Paris Hilton in "Supernatural" and a few other bits, now we've got the official rating for Rob Zombie's Halloween II, a first ever look at Evan Rachel Wood in HBO's "True Blood", the first hi-res images from Peter Jackson's The Lovely Bones and Univeral's Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant, along with the new trailer for Spike Jonze's Where the Wild Things Are and a bump for the remake of Night of the Demons. Read all about all of that, and more inside!

Let's kick things off with the brand spanking new trailer for Warner Bros. Pictures' Where the Wild Things Are, the hotly anticipated Spike Jonze film arriving in theaters October 16, courtesy of Yahoo!. The film will combine voice performances, live-action puppetry and computer animation to dramatize the ad-ventures of Max, a rebellious young boy who runs away from home after a fight with his mother and finds himself in a forest where the wild things roam.

EVAN RACHEL WOOD GETS BITTEN

Just when we thought True Blood could not get any sexier, Evan Rachel Wood joins season two of the HBO hit as Sophie-Anne, the Vampire Queen of Louisiana. Wood will make her first appearance in the August 30 episode when a desperate Bill (Stephen Moyer) seeks Sophie-Anne's advice. TV Guide has your first look.

Nobody’s ever entirely happy to see her” character, Louisiana’s blood-sucker boss lady, Queen Sophie-Ann, says series creator Alan Ball. “She’s very powerful, capricious and most likely insane.

HALLOWEEN TREATS

In other news, Rob Zombie writes that Halloween II is rated R for "strong brutal bloody violence throughout, terror, disturbing graphic images, language, some crude sexual content and nudity."

Check out a drunk Uncle Seymour below.

NIGHT OF THE DEMONS ATTACK IN FEBRUARY?

Fangoria is reporting that Adam Gierasch and Jace Anderson's Night of the Demons has been bumped to an undetermined February 2010 date. The film was slated to open again Zombieland on October 9th. It will premiere at the Film4 Frightfest UK Film Festival this month.

In the remake Angela Feld is throwing the Halloween party to end all Halloween parties at the infamous Broussard Mansion in New Orleans, where dark events transpired almost a century ago. But when the packed party gets busted by the police, Angela and her friends Maddie, Lily, Suzanne, Colin, Dex and Jason are the only ones left behind. Soon Colin and Angela make a grisly discovery in the basement and inexplicable events start to take place. With the mansion gates mysteriously locked, the seven find themselves trapped for the night...and soon they're fighting ancient demons for their very souls.

LOVELY BONES IMAGES ARE HEAVEN

DreamWorks Pictures provided Bloody-Disgusting with the first four hi-res images from Peter Jackson's The Lovely Bones, which arrives in theaters December 11. The film centers on a young girl who has been murdered and watches over her family – and her killer – from heaven. She must weigh her desire for vengeance against her desire for her family to heal. Watch the trailer here.

ANOTHER TEEN VAMP MOVIE

Below you'll find the first batch of stills from Universal Pictures' adaptation of Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant, which was retitled to appeal more to the Twilight crowd. If you missed out on the trailer and opfficial poster, dig on 'em here. The Vampire's Assistant tells the frightening tale of a boy who unknowingly breaks a 200-year-old truce between two warring factions of vampires. Pulled into a fantastic life of misunderstood sideshow freaks and grotesque creatures of the night, one teen will vanish from the safety of a boring existence and fulfill his destiny in a place drawn from nightmares.

NOT HORROR, BUT MAN DOES THIS SUCK. R.I.P. JOHN HUGHES

John Hughes, the Chicago-based filmmaker who redefined the teen movie in the '80s with his sympathetic comedies about the joys and heartbreak of high school life, died Thursday of a heart attack in New York. He was 59.

Hughes suffered the heart attack while taking a morning walk while visiting family members in Manhattan, his representatives said.

With films like "Sixteen Candles" (1984), "The Breakfast Club" (1985) and "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" (1986), all of which he wrote and directed, Hughes treated teens with respect. In contrast to raunchier teen movies like "Porky's," Hughes reached beyond the conventional stereotypes to create idiosyncratic characters that spoke to a generation. In the process, he nurtured the careers of such young actors as Molly Ringwald, Anthony Michael Hall and Ally Sheedy - continue reading here.

WHY IN THE FUCK IS DEMONS COMING OUT IN FEBRUARY? I keep reading all the blog posts on pre production, and basically the sound mixing and editing took over a year and a half to get prepared for a release in 2010? Wow. This had the potential of being a kick ass movie to go see on Halloween, fuck Saw, Fuck Zombieland... Im damn sure if they would've had it done in time and promotion went well... they'd of done pretty well with this movie. I'm sad if anything. Shit, we havnt even seen a trailer yet, so that explains it. Oh well, guess thats how it has to go if they're planning on doing it right, and thats what it comes down to. UGH Im just so mad! I Just wanted to see a GOOD gorefest Halloween flick this year :(

R.I.P Hughes. That Seymor Coffins video What the fuck? that was so dumb. I was one person who was waitting in anticipation to see what the new Halloween would turn out, But recently I've been getting less and less interested in it. My hype and excitement went to Final destination 4, I'm still hoping to be proven wrong about H2, But idk...

I'm starting to think that it is Rob Zombie's goal to kill off the Halloween franchise once and for all.

Can't wait for the August 30th episode of TB, I didn't know Evan Rachel Wood was going to play the mother of vampires! The daddy of vampires is that crazy ass doc in Hannibal. RIP John Hughes, love his movies.

True Blood is amazing, although it's time to start bringing closure to some of the plot lines. The maenad storyline is a bit repetitive. Less dumbass Sookie, more badass Eric!

I'm not surprised about NOTD being pushed since the movie needs to be picked up maybe by a bigger company and it needs to get some advertising if they're actually planning on releasing it in theaters.

looooooooooooooooooooooving the Rachel Wood cameo in True Blood! True Blood and Dexter are TV Gold for me! It would be even cooler if they could fit Marilyn Manson in there as well, not to mention psycho-bitch miss Lady GaGa, lol

http://www.petitiononline.com/robzh2/petition.html To: Weinstein Company/Rob Cummings To: Robert Bartleh Cummings (A.K.A. Rob Zombie) CC: Malek Akkad, Bob & Harvey Weinstein Weinstein Company LLC 345 Hudson St., 13th Fl. New York, NY 10014 RE: Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2 We, the undersigned, ask that Robert Bartleh Cummings (A.K.A. Rob Zombie), director of Weinstein Company/ Dimension Films upcoming motion picture “H2: Halloween 2” reconsider the decision to take the sequel of the re-visioning of Halloween and The Halloween Franchise in the direction in which it has been directed. We feel that Rob Zombie’s 2007 Re-visioning of Halloween took the film and franchise in a wrong but still salvageable direction. From the information provided by Robert Cummings on the sequel to that motion picture and the trailer released to the internet on youtube.com and movies.yahoo.com. It is clear that he is taking the Halloween franchise further down the spiral from which many fans feel there will be no return. We feel that from the scenes of the trailer and information provided the film looks to be a mimic of a few combined horror motion pictures. We also feel that his casting of Sheri Lyn Skurkis (A.K.A. Sheri Moon Zombie) is not based on acting ability or merit, but due only to the fact he must cast his spouse in every motion picture he directs. Sheri Moon should be omitted from the cast and those scenes be corrected. Another major concern for us fans is that it has been reported by Robert Cummings, other cast and news that Michael Myers will not be wearing the classic William Shatner based mask or any altered or re-envisioned concept of that mask for 70% of the feature motion picture. We the fans ask that Mr. Cummings re-write and re-shoot the film with the deletion of the mentioned scenes and/or plot. We feel that Michael Myers is 100% evil without cause and should be left at that conclusion. If the film is released as it now stands it will without a doubt destroy the entire franchise and become a mockery of what Debra Hill, John Carpenter, Moustapha Akkad, Tommy Lee Wallace and so many others have immortalized in horror motion picture history. Sincerely, Halloween Fans

Quite bummed about Night of the Demons. I was really looking forward to that one, and bumps that big are often a bad omen for the movie's quality. Not only that, NOTD is a pure Halloween movie. It takes place during a COSTUME PARTY for cryin' out loud. By February, this movie will seem extremely out of place. If they were going to bump it several months, anyway, I think they would have been more successful to hold it until next Halloween. February is not a good box-office month for horror (or anything, really), especially horror set around Halloween.

I tell you, Zombie is releasing these awful videos about Uncle Coffins so we will all cheer when he is killed in the movie. I wonder if they will put them on the DVD Extras.

I can actually understand why there are news on the Twilight-series, because it is a vampire story (of sorts), but does Where The Wild Things Are have anything to do with horror? I guess it's much anticipated though..
