Beyond the break you'll find the trailer debut for Peter Jackson's The Lovely Bones, which arrives in theaters December 11. Based on the critically acclaimed best-selling novel by Alice Sebold, DreamWorks Pictures' adaptation centers on a young girl who has been murdered and watches over her family – and her killer – from heaven. She must weigh her desire for vengeance against her desire for her family to heal. Mark Wahlberg, Rachel Weisz, Susan Sarandon, Stanley Tucci, Michael Imperioli and Saoirse Ronan all star.
I'm pretty sure I just saw Mandy Moore in this. I have to find out one way or the other coz I can't be wasting my money on something she's in. Looks brilliantly shot, but I'm just not into non-horror movies too much anymore. Maybe I'll redbox this.
Wow that looks really damn good. I heard of the movie first then read the book because its whole 'view life from heaven' perspective. That element was intriguing. Lovely Bones and Where the Wild Things Are are my most anticipated movies this year. And Barfneck Mandy Moore is NOT in the movie.
When I first seen that Peter Jackson was doing the screen adaption for The Lovely Bones. I knew he would look at this film the same way he did for Heavenly Creatures. I see alot of Heavanly Creatures in this film and I know it's gonna be a good adaption of the book as well as a very strong film! I can't wait to see it.
hey padlad i got the same message as you did..this aint the first time that it had happened to me either. it happened whenever i tried to play the red banner for "thirst".
its not really a spoiler to know who the killer is -- that is something we learn early on in the book....the book isn't really about finding out WHO killed her -- because it is from HER perspective and she knows. it's about how she is attempting to guide her family so that THEY know who killed her (among many other things). don't worry -- no spoilers there. i LOVED this book, and i'm not sure the trailer has convinced me that i'm going to LOVE this movie. i HOPE i will!!!
agreed, the trailers don't always work as well as they use to, but it did here for me for once. Anyway movie looks very pretty, well shot etc etc, but the subject matter to me just looks like a bit of a drag, long winded, unthrilling, suspenseless and pointless. Who's the target audience here?
I know Jackson is a very visual director but does it seem like maybe he took a couple notes out from Guilermo del Toro? Some of the stuff in that trailer just really reminded me of del Toro's imagery for some reason
