Many of you guys turned out to see Freestyle Releasing's The Collector this weekend, so I'm assuming a lot of you have your own questions you'd like to ask filmmakers Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton. As the film continues to collect fans around the country, the studios will be holding a live Facebook Video chat with Dunstan and Melton on Wednesday 8/5 at 1:00pm PST. For full details on how to participate, read on -- and don't forget to write your own review of the slasher to tell all of B-D what YOU thought!
The slasher follows the story of handyman and ex-con Arkin, who aims to repay a debt to his ex-wife by robbing his new employer’s country home. Unfortunately for Arkin, a far worse enemy has already laid claim to the property – and the family. As the seconds tick down to midnight, Arkin becomes a reluctant hero trapped by a masked “Collector” in a maze of lethal invention – the Spanish Inquisition as imagined by Rube Goldberg – while trying to rescue the very family he came to rob.
Here is how to participate:
1) On Wednesday, 8/5 at 1:00 PST, log into Facebook and click here: http://apps.facebook.com/vpypebroadcaster
2) Type in your questions to Marcus Dunstan & Patrick Melton on the chat box at the bottom of the screen
3) You will see everyone's questions and what everyone is saying in real time
4) Marcus Dunstan & Patrick Melton will be answering your questions in the video player
Help us spread the word and we look forward to chatting with you on August 5th!!!

I was pretty unimpressed with it. It was pretty plotless, the killer was very non-threatening (and was wearing, what, a black mexican wrestling mask?), and the ending was just lame. The soundtrack was pretty cool though, so props to Jarome Dillon.
I couldn't help but notice a certain special thanks to a certain brad miska and bloody disgusting in the credits but I don't think that swayed your review this time, the plot was simple but effective and carried the movie like a modern friday the 13th I loved the traps and the use of multiple ones to kill one person/thing I liked the black cat's death and the boyfriend bear trap. the ending was kind of wtfish because I was praying for a sort of happy ending, then the little after credits part was decent and makes me wonder if/when he opens the box will the sequel take off from there. I loved when he first entered the main house and you heard the opening to "dead bodies everywhere" and Jarome was on point with the opening sequence
I'd say not too many people reading this news piece actually went to the theater this past weekend to see this, seeing as how it bombed so hard that it didn't even crack the box office top ten.
Hell, even P2 did better than that.
