After having her baby, Milla Jovovich has returned to our genre in a big way. This Friday she stars in Rogue Pictures' A Perfect Getaway, she broke the news to Bloody-Disgusting that he'll be starring once again as Alice in Resident Evil 4: Afterlife, and now you can catch her on the big screen November 6th as she toplines alongside Elias Koteas, Will Patton and Hakeem Kae Kazim in Olatunde Osunsanmi's The 4th Kind. Read on for the full synopsis that was just sent our way from Universal Pictures.
1n 1972, a scale of measurement was established for alien encounters. When a UFO is sighted, it is called an encounter of the first kind. When evidence is collected, it is known as an encounter of the second kind. When contact is made with extraterrestrials, it is the third kind. The next level, abduction, is the fourth kind. This encounter has been the most difficult to document...until now.
Structured unlike any film before it, The Fourth Kind is a provocative thriller set in modern-day Nome, Alaska, where—mysteriously since the 1960s—a disproportionate number of the population has been reported missing every year. Despite multiple FBI investigations of the region, the truth has never been discovered.
Here in this remote region, psychologist Dr. Abigail Tyler (Milla Jovovich) began videotaping sessions with traumatized patients and unwittingly discovered some of the most disturbing evidence of alien abduction ever documented.
Using never-before-seen archival footage that is integrated into the film, The Fourth Kind exposes the terrified revelations of multiple witnesses. Their accounts of being visited by alien figures all share disturbingly identical details, the validity of which is investigated throughout the film.
Eliias Koteas and Will Patton? Count me in!! Sounds awsome. What better setting than Alaska? This sounds badass. I'm putting this up there with Pandorum as far as the movies I'm looking forward too.
Yeah, ummm... Hey Milla, if you're reading this, then look at the second sentence where it says "He'll be once again starring as Alice in Resident Evil 4" Are we having a guy fill in for Alice... lol just kidding.... Yeah GOOD TYPO Mr. Disgusting. Ya want me to proof read that for ya next time, cause I'm pretty sure that Milla is a woman... ahem, let me rephrase that one... She's a really hot chick. Damn you Paul, you lucky bastard. Keep bringing us more RE films.
HOLY CRAP! Milla's actually in a good movie?!
But seriously though. Whenever a movie says "Based on a true story" I do my research and I can't find anything on this. Nothing at all.
Did anyone see the ABC special last night on abductions or the UK xfiles report release on CNN. Kind of weird this came out the week after this film. I bet you it has some truth to it.
Some people claim to found evidence online? Anyone on here come across anything?
Yup, I was thinking the same thing. Is this another Blair Witch, Texas Chainsaw, or Exorcist, Emily Rose ..etc. Putting True story in front of a title really fills seats. But really, I'm getting a little bored with the "cry wolf" routine. So c'mon anyone, real or no?
Wondering where they got the owl idea from? Check this out:
