Thanks to B-D reader 'Mike' for tipping us off to the special San Diego Comic Con footage for Solomon Kane, Michael J. Bassett's period piece horror film that tells the heroic story of a savage warrior in 16th Century England who seeks redemption for a lifetime of sins by renouncing violence to live a life of purity, only to find himself compelled to pick up his sword once again to vanquish a growing evil. The footage is bootlegged off over at YouTube, so enjoy it while it lasts. Starring James Purefoy, the adaptation feature stunning cinematography by Dan Laustsen, who also worked on Brotherhood of the Wolf and Silent Hill. Don't take my word for it, watch it yourself by reading on. Seriously, how excited are you?
Ive been looking forword to this for a long time, Purefoy is cool but Pete Postlethwaite is a legend. This move is going to be cool as the ninth circle.
Love Robert E. Howard's Solomon Kane stories. Some of the all time coolest genre pulp stuff ever written for my tastes. Looking forward to this.
