One of the best movies I saw last year (many of you just picked this up on DVD) was Filmax's groundbreaking horror film REC, which took us on a first-person ride through the hell of an apartment quarantine where an infection spreads like wildfire. Arriving in Spain this October is REC 2, which will have its world premiere at the "Midnight Madness" portion of the TIFF this September. The same talented directors (Jaume Balaguero and Paco Plaza) stick to the same claustrophobic concept in REC 2, but find new means of transferring fear from the screen to the spectator through the recording lens. To be honest, not very excited. Don't get me wrong, I loved [REC]. But honestly, what can they possibly do differently (or better) in [REC] 2? All of the teaser footage I have seen just looks like deleted scenes from the first movie. Whatever, I will still end up seeing it, I just hope that I am wrong.
Looks badass! It'll be awesome seeing the action from the perspective of a team of combat experts, which will allow for some cool first person zombie action once a few are inevitably bitten.
First of all- they can do it from the first person POV which will definitely be an interesting improvement from the first one. Second of all- the first one kicked so much ass, who the fuck cares if it's better or different? They got the formula, let them reuse it and amuse us once more.
This movie will own, the first one and it's remake fuckin freaked me out to the core... loved the whole friday the 13th tailer usage... with the number's
Maybe it's the bit with the shotgun, but it kinda reminded me of an FPS...anyway, I really should rent the original sometime. Need money. Damn recession...XD
heh was just gonna say looks like Left 4 Dead justin_voorhees... freaking loved the original and this looks like an action infused version of it. Nice.
I never got the whole [rec] hype. and I guess because of the whole hype the movie was a total disappointment. I'd even made me hesitant to watch Diary of the Dead, but that luckily turned out to be a lot better.
The directors should have just spent the money on another project and showcased there talent elsewhere. It's gonna be the same movie over again with a slightly bigger budget. The first was a great movie though.
