Typically I'd be excited to hear that the original director of a franchise is returning for more fun, but not in this case. Production Weekly broke the news exclusively this morning that Paul W.S. Anderson will get behind the directors chair to once again bring Alice back to the big screen in Sony Screen Gems' Resident Evil 4: Afterlife. The video game adaptation that is said to head to Tokyo is scheduled to begin an 8 week shoot September 28th at Cinespace Film Studios in Toronto. Casting as it comes in.

Looking forward to Alice shooting up some more zombies. 3 was alright, I just wish Jill Valentine (so hott) would come back.

This is his first sequel, right? Well, I'm not a fan of his. Let him put the final nail in the coffin and I will stick with the games. How could he leave out Chris and Leon?

oh good another resident evil movie I won't waste my time watching. Who the hell keeps hiring Paul WS Anderson to make movies? It's more baffling than Uwe Boll's continued movie making in spite of tremendous evidence pointing to the fact that he may be retarded. At least Uwe Boll movies are fun to watch with a bunch of friends while drinking heavily. Paul Anderson movies are just pathetic.

Hey, man, he can't butcher the series much more than it already has been. But alas, the only news that would excite me about a film version of Resident Evil at this point would be the much-needed reboot of the franchise altogether. Go back to the drawing board, forget all this Alice nonsense, and make us the movie we've wanted to see all along... one that actually has something to do with the games, maybe?

loved the first and 3rd movies, did not like the 2nd movie all too much. these are guilty pleasure popcorn zombie flicks that people need to stop taking so damn seriously.

the entire RESIDENT EVIL story line was laid out for these assholes. all they had to do was follow the games and we'd be watching an awesome part 5 right now.

Uh, well can't say I'm looking forward to this. Resident Evil 3 Sucked Ass.

Fear and Loathing...I completely agree. Where are the alpha males of the game? And I'd love to see Ada in a movie. But overall, I'm a huge fan...so through it all, I'll still see it.

What is it with you and saying everything is exclusive? I read it on 1up before was posted on here. But I cant say Im thrilled anderson is having anything to do with movies, but the upshot is he hopefully cant make it worse than that steaming pile of self indulgent hollywoodized tripe that 3 was.

After this one sinks like a stone, we'll probably only have to wait like four years for a reboot. And THAT will finally be a kickass RE franchise. Also, by that time, PWAS (Poor Washed-up Ass Stooge) hopefully will be reduced to directing second-unit for Steven Seagal flicks.

i agree with the 'popcorn zombie fun flicks' statements... thats pretty much all that the Resident Evil flics are, I don't mind them. I've bought every DVD and will watch them when i'm in the mood for some mindless action light horror zombie silliness. I think thats why the series kinda works, they arent overly offensive, have pretty girls and zombies and action.. what more can you want on a wed night with pizza at home. bring on the next installment of mediocre zombie action.. infact bring it straight to DVD so i can watch it sooner.

I really don't have anything against this guy. He makes fun B Movie flicks. As a fellow Resident Evil game fan, I have never looked down on the movie series. Yeah it didn't have all the elements or story we wanted but it was brainless fun. The movies are decent, 1 and 3 were the best. Who knows maybe this one will suprise us all and have more gore, more zombies, and more mutant hybrids and just maybe it will suprise by how good it will be. I'm a optimist, so here's hoping P.W.A will make a great film instead of a decent one.
