Sony Screen Gems' Resident Evil: Afterlife, the fourth pic in the game-to-film franchise, is slated to go behind cameras for an 8 week shoot September 28th at Cinespace Film Studios in Toronto, writes Production Weekly. The studio has plopped the film on their release calendars for September 17, 2010. No word on who will be returning just yet, but the plot is said to take us to Tokyo for more Umbrella Corporation zombie mayhem. Let's hope they kick it up a notch from the previous film and it's over use of CG (man, the explosions looked like crap).

I know this is being picky but in the last film whenever they would cut to a close up of the main chick her face looked fake. It totally took me out of the story. And when is CG going to fade out..Probably when CG films stop making 100 mil at the box office. God I miss 80's films.

I don't know why but I love the Resident Evil series. All the haters will point out a million totally valid reasons why the movie sucks and I'll still love it.

I want to see what happened with that group of people that were lead by Ali Larter's Character. I hope she's back. Don't care if it's with brown or blonde hair.

halloweencheif, you aren't being nitpicky. you are spot on. i LOVE Milla (she's my favorite actress) but the SUPER airbrushed close-up shots of her were distracting as hell (thankfully they aren't as glaring on the DVD). she's gorgeous. there's NO need to do that ESPECIALLY since they are ALL supposed to be grungy/dirty (it's the end of the world after all! LOL). but that being said, i can't WAIT for this!!! i'm SO happy it's on!

Can't wait! Hey, the article says that you don't know who's returning. Didn't Milla say she was doing it not too long ago? Anyways, I agree, tszilla. I'll always love these films no matter what anybody says. I can't wait to see how huge this movie is going to look with it taking place in Japan.

Kick it up a notch? The last film was the most entertaining of the three! (First one was pretty good though)

great. another RESIDENT EVIL movie that has fuck all to do with RESIDENT EVIL! i ask again....who the hell is alice??! the cut scenes in the RESIDENT EVIL 5 video game are way more thrilling than anything these hacks can put out.

I honestly have played all the resident evil games and got immersed in the stpry and zombie fun. the movies had nothing to do with them besides having zombies and a few names were retained. the movies IMO sucked. the first was barely watchable apocalypse and extinction were terrible.

I love me some Resident Evil! They don't rush these films out too fast and they keep some appeal each different movie.

To the people that complain about the movies being nothing like the video game, do you not know that they are "Based" on the video games not "reproductions".

I didn't much care for the second installment, but hopefully they will keep it on the right track for the next one.

They better be bringing back Ali Larter. I swear if this movie is just going to be about Milla's one dimensional acting times 200 (clones) its probably going to suck harder and more than the previous installments (didn't think that was at all possible). I'm sorry, I just don't think Milla will be able to pull it off. Only good actors can make playing clones interesting. Sorry. :(
