The tragic loss of their unborn child has devastated Kate (Vera Farmiga) and John (Peter Sarsgaard), taking a toll on both their marriage and Kate’s fragile psyche as she is plagued by nightmares and haunted by demons from her past. Struggling to regain some semblance of normalcy in their lives, the couple decides to adopt another child. At the local orphanage, both John and Kate find themselves strangely drawn to a young girl named Esther (Isabelle Fuhrman).
Almost as soon as they welcome Esther into their home, however, an alarming series of events begins to unfold, leading Kate to believe that there’s something wrong with Esther—this seemingly angelic little girl is not what she appears to be. Concerned for the safety of her family, Kate tries to get John and others to see past Esther’s sweet facade. But her warnings go unheeded until it may be too late…for everyone.

My favortie Psycho kid flick is The Child. As for Orphan I have no desire to endure this see it all in the trailer turd. Not to mention this prize might make a 12 year old girl happy but that's about it. WEAK!!
I'm excited to see Orphan! My favorite psycho-child film right now is the creepy dead kid in The Unborn. For some strange reason i want to hook him and Esther up on a date! Seriously bro!
The Orphan looks interesting to me because it seems like a modern day spin on The Bad Seed and other psycho kid flicks. As for the best psycho kid flick, it would be either The Omen, but since he is the anti-christ that probably doesn't count, so I will say the original Bad Seed.
I can't wait to see The Orphan because I love the idea of creepy children in the world, because hey, Charlie Manson was a kid once, same with Michael Myers and we've seen what they've done.
But my favorite "psycho-child" horror film by far is "The Good Son",Macaulay Culkin as a disturbed child, after being in Home Alone. Best thing ever. And the best delivery of the line "Don't fuck with me.
The Orphan Look's really cool and refreshing because for one they are putting a spin on the whole messed up child. Instead of always having a boy playing the role. Plus this girl gives me nightmares. Every time I see that poster I cringe with fear. But I am finally happy to see that a horror movie is R and has balls and once again can end this PG-13 bullshit trend.
Favorite psycho kid movie is a toss up between The Brood (the scariest fuckin movie I ever seen) Or Joshua, pretty fucked up movie that plays with your mind.
With my first baby on the way, I've become somewhat apprehensive at watching many of the "evil child" subgenre but the trailer for 'The Orphan' really looks great. My all-time favorite "evil child" film is the 1980 'The Children'...something about those black nails.
I can't wait to see the movie just because if there is no supernatural factor I just need someone to please do what anyone would do in real life to a little kid that was trying to kill them methodically. Pick them up and flail their little weak bodies until you profit. Also I have to agree with some of the other posters The Good Son really creeped me out and I felt so bad when the little girl went into the water.
I am so excited about this movie! I really like the movies about people are are just inherently evil, with no reason to it. My favorite psycho kid film is the classic, The Bad Seed.
I can't wait to see "Orphan" because it does look like it has added some new aspects to the child killers genere. The actress who plays Esther is absolutely adorable,so it will be fun to see her in action as the evil bad seed child.
Growing up i think my favorite child killer movie would have to be "Milo".When i first saw that movie i nearly shat myself. It really crawled under my skin with the total creepiness of it.At the end where there in that basement and he has all her friends in wedding dresses..ohh still gives me chills.
I want to see The Orphan, because she is as evil as Damien, which is my favorite psycho kid from the classic 1976 masterpiece "The Omen". That little girl has the devil in her eyes.
My favorite Psycho Child Movie would have to be the amazing Masterpiece "The Omen" not the remake, I am looking forward it because Esther looks like the most Crazy Psycho child to ever hit the big screen this year
My Favourtie Psycho Child film is the village of the dammned, those kids are damn freeky!!! Cant wait to see this film, love all the Dark Castle productions and this looks a real chill ride!!!!
I'm excited to see The Oprhan because I loved House of Wax, and it looks interesting. The "Something is wrong with Esther" ad campaign is really intriguing.
My favorite psycho child film would have to be the definitive film of that genre-- The Omen. It's a classic horror film that is still relevant and terrifying in this day and age.
The best movie with child killers so far is the british film THE CHILDREN..which deserves a US theatrical release instead of being dump on dvd this fall.
As far a "psycho child" movies go, my favorite would have to be The Omen. A close second would be Children of the Corn (that Malachai dude scared the shit out of me when I was a kid even though the overall film is pretty cheesy). Orphan looks pretty good, been waiting for it and hopefully it won't disappoint.
I'm excited to see Orphan because it looks like it's going to be an AWESOME movie! I'm dying to know what Esther's secret really is, and I'm sure it'll be an interesting one, to say the least. My favorite psycho-child killer is definitely Damien from The Omen films. He always creeps me out!
I'm excited to see this film because it is about a killer kid....what's creepier then that...you think you can trust a child and then whammo....a knife in the throat! As far as my favorite "psycho" child film it isn't actually about the child... Gage from Pet Semetary is the most evil and frightening killer kiddie ever.
I'm looking forward to seeing the Orphan because I too had a little sister who was adopted, and she also tried to murder me. Sometimes those orphans are a little off.
My favorite film about killer children is Who Can Kill A Child.
My favorite Psycho Kid movie is the original "Bad Seed." That chick was freaking NUTS! I'd rather babysit for Damien Thorn than her.
