Anchor Bay Entertainment will be releasing the Adam Sandler produced (Scary Madison) The Shortcut (trailer) on DVD September 29th. The movie centers on two brothers who come upon a rarely used shortcut in their new town -- and soon discover the reasons why it's so rarely used. No specs have been revealed yet and no word on a Blu-ray release. The film was directed by Nicholaus Goosen and stars Andrew Seeley, Shannon Woodward, Dave Franco, Katrina Bowen and Raymond Barry.
Actually looking forward to seeing it. Looks like a throwback of sorts to hillbilly horror films that have come in vogue again with Wrong Turn and its sequels.
I thought the posters with the cast on them died out years ago, wtf were they thinking in bringing it back? Nothing turns me off of a DVD faster than seeing the fucking cast plastered on the front of it.
Having the main characters RUNNING through a gate that says "Warning, Violators will be killed!" already shows how dumb they are. James Franco's brother looks a lot like him, that's for sure.
Based on the trailer, I want to see it. But based on the poster, it looks like a cheap and poorly made flick. If they cut off the top of the poster and just left the title and the picture of them running, it might look better. But with the cheap look of the cast in a line giving the scary glare is just pathetic.
