At the link you can read about the tough shoot, Director Sam Bayer's drive to create perfection and hear a bit about the new Freddy Krueger, Jackie Earle Haley. I wonder how long it will be until the bitching starts.

Any second now, waiting, waiting....

I kinda hope the fans get over the BS and get behind this one. The whining is just getting so old and tiring.

Waiting for a picture of new Freddy before I start bitching.

The bitching IS getting annoying. I'm excited for this. PD did good with F13, I'm sure they'll do fine with this. Now let's see the new Freddy. :)

Didn't even read that blog before I posted, I am definitely stoked for this and I think they'll do a fine job with it. A scary Freddy is a good Freddy and based on Jackies performance in 'Little Children' I think he's gonna do fantastic. I hope.

Miska-- I'm sure everyone would like a reason to get behind this movie. Jackie is the sole reason for that. But on the other side of the coin you have Fuller and all of his bullshit. Look what they did to Jason. If that had been a homerun, I would be welcoming this with open arms. Hopefully Fuller and company learned from that fallout to bring us something a little more thoughtful and well-executed for this re-boot.

I was going to say DEAD ON Krueger then I noticed it's a picture from Freddy's revenge, regardless I'm very much looking forward to this because I wasn't very fond of Freddy vs Jason and was quite fond of PD's Friday the 13th.

I loved the F13 remake and hate most remakes. Casting Jackie Earl Haley was the best decision for the filmmakers here, that guy doesn't need any fake burn scars to be scary as hell. After having seen him in Watchmen and Little Children, I have no doubt in my mind this guy could do more with Freddy than any other actor replacing Englund.

Well, so far Brad Fuller and Platinum dunes have made a few really shitty movies, the Friday remake being one of the worst. But Jackie Earl Haley was totally bitchin in Watchmen, and I think if he can pull off a good Freddy then this one will be worth checking out. Still waiting for a look at him though...

I enjoyed friday the 13th part 12 errr I mean remake :)

Frddy was always my least favorite 80's slasher killer. I am hoping this get's me on his side. I only ever really liked Nightmare part 3. I truly hope they do better with this then Friday which wasn't terrible but also not anywhere near as good as it could have been.

Come on. This film will not be scary at all. You guys over at Platinum Dunes wouldn't know scary if it bit you in the ass. Jackie Earl Haley will probably be this film's only saving grace. He's a remarkable actor. Too bad the script sucks. Just like the Friday remake, Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, Amityville remake, and Hitcher remake, this film will suck. The only thing Platinum Dunes has ever done that was even remotely good was the TCM remake. That had to have been luck. What's the matter, do you guys think you can ever make an original horror film that isn't PG-13? Is there enough brains over there at your offices to give someone the chance to make something truly scary? Oh, I forgot, your company is run by Michael Bay. Your films make money. They're front loaded as hell, and don't have much life beyond their opening weekends though. Sure, they may move some units on DVD, but in twenty years, who's gonna care? Congratulations, Platinum Dunes will always be remembered as the purveyor of crap. You guys must be proud.

Why should we get behind this remake? I made the mistake of getting behind the Friday remake and holy hell was that movie awful. I now believe proper horror fans should never support a remake until after they've seen it and it actually turns out to be decent.

...aaaaaaaaand there is the bitching.

i agree with "I am the Egg Man" and "Scurger". What kind of credibility does Platinum Dunes have? I would rather watch a bunch of Stan-Lee cameos edited together than any of their movies. Let's bring on some new ideas. How about a scimitar-weilding midget with tourettes?

Well... I'm not bitching. I hope they are successful with this.

How much did they pay bloodydisgusting to act positive about this movie? All remake news posted on here has MrDisgusting bashing it and being fed up of all the remakes. I've seen them. Now this one comes along and it's all peaches n' cream? Oh no, people should just accept this remake because the whining is getting old and tiring, so are all the fucking remakes!

Justin_Voorhees
3:22pm, July 12, 2009

remakes aren't new...movies have been getting remade since the beginning of the film industry.

Sin Daddy
3:29pm, July 12, 2009

I'm not bitching about remakes, I'm bitching about how many there are. That's all there is today. Remakes of previous franchises and Americanized remakes of foreign films that are only a year old.

Slasher_Guy
3:29pm, July 12, 2009

I'm looking forward to seeing this remake, but I want more original horror in theaters. All of the original horror flicks are being dumped to DVD/limited releases and that's because horror fans are flocking to see these remakes in theaters (regardless of whether they are good or bad) and, in consequence, giving movie studios the green light to remake more movies. It's almost like some horror fans have given up on originality and will just settle to be spoonfed remake after remake. Audiences have made remakes popular, so if you are one of those people who sees every remake in theaters - you have no leg to stand on for bitching about remakes AT ALL. And anyone saying the script for this movie sucks needs to remember it's a very early draft and has gone through lots of rewrites. I just hope Platinum Dunes delivers starts making original horror flicks and this remake craze dies down - at least if it's only for a while.

TheDeadMayTasteBad

I love how Fuller calls anyone not open to the remake an "idiot." Really professional and respectful.
