Arriving on DVD September 29 from Lightning Media is Book of Blood, the latest Clive Barker adaptation in a special "Director's Cut" release. While studying a college student who appears to be channeling messages from the dead, paranormal researcher Mary Florescu's (Sophie Ward) discovers a house that is at the intersection of so-called "highways" transporting souls in the afterlife. Looks interesting, and pretty close to the source material... which is impressive because the story was only a handful of pages if I remember correctly...
I love that Barker's work is getting the recognition it deserves, but I'm surprised this one is getting made before some of his other, more interesting works...
another 'dragged on the floor away from the camera' shot. and theyre all the same. at least if youre gonna do it, finda way 2 make it feel a little new. any director that uses that shot = fail.
