Deacon Frost Takes the Spolight in New 'Blade' Trilogy?

Because there already isn't enough news today, The Sunday Mail is reporting that Blade director Stephen Norrington and Stephen Dorff - who played Deacon Frost in the first film - are teaming up for a potential prequel! Dorff tells the mag, "It will be a prequel to the Blade movies, Deacon's story. It's a new trilogy the director has created. It will be cool," he continues, "We hope to shoot the first film next year. Frost is a character I have never been able to shake." The site spelled Dorff's name wrong and has plenty of other errors, so I wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be bunk.

My money's on BUNK. I met with MARVEL just two weeks ago - they weren't doing anything with BLADE at the time......even when a project is fast tracked, Hollywood doesn't move this quickly.

only because Norrington's a badass director will this be worth watching... Dorff is a good actor as well but I feel as though this is a bad time for this movie... the Spierig bros. have what looks like an original vamp idea on a genre a little played out for the moment

While this would be pure badass...I just don't know if Stephen could play that character in a prequel. He looked REALLY Young in Blade compared to how he looks now.

Comics2Film.com has made contact and Norrington confirmed the news. "not exactly how the article describes but close." The director credits Dorff with coming up with the idea for the new project, which "has evolved into a very interesting story." While that evolution may have carried it away from the source material, Norrington tells us the film is definitely envisioned as part of the existing mythology. "The linkage to 'Blade' is still big in the equation."

Just give me a Blade movie without Goyer being involved. That third movie was the biggest train wreck of the decade in terms of story and directing. (worst dracula character in film history). Biel and Posey were the only reasons I sat through the entire thing.

Love the first two Blade movies, liked parts of the third but wasn't impressed, fell asleep watching the TV show. Doubt this will actually happen, but I dunno, I'd probably see it.

I didn't care so much for Blade. Frost was alright but (if it even does happen) it probably will be shitty.

Probably won't see it, I wanna remember ''Blade'' as the 1st one & thats it, hope it does good though.

Deacon Who? Most movie goers aren't going to remember this character, and why should they? This MUST be a joke...

Blade was a brilliant movie and without a doubt it was the reason for the comic to film revival. However I can see this film having its good and its bad points.. the only good point being that Stephen Dorff is a fantastic actor and will carry the role for as long as he can. But without Blade as the titular character can we really expect anything other than a disaster?

So this is... a 'Blade' film without Blade in it? Hollywood's finally stopped taking the meds.

Stephen Dorff has been in some god awful movies (cold creek manor, fear dotcom) but those movies would have been garbage w/ or w/o him. I've seen him do good work in that andy warhol movie & Deuces wild...and I dig hearing more about Deacon Frost...

was his character Deacon that big of a character to tell a prequel about him? I thought it started off telling his story in Blade one before he ate it. I guess, they have to have him born and show him growing up, and how his father beats him? i dunno. I like Stephen Dorff though. always have. The Gate, Power of One, and of course..many other movies that arent coming to mind right now.

I just want more Blade. At this point I don't care how they do it. Unless they have Rob Zombie remake it -- then I don't want it.

Rob Zombie's Blade....I like it. Make it work Grime.

/laughs at frontal lobe "I met with marvel last week" yeah, sure you did. At any rate I liked frost in the part he was in and blade 3 single handidly ruined my interest in the series so my interest is pretty much zilch. I like to pretend there was only blade 1 and 2 and thats it.

"The site spelled Dorff's name wrong and has plenty of other errors, so I wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be bunk." LMFAO...as if this site has never ever ever mispelled anything or had any errors in it's delivery? gimme a break.
