Beyond the break you can check out our exclusive look at Freestyle Releasing's motion poster for The Collector, which arrives in theaters July 31 from Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton (Feast-III, Saw IV-VI). The slasher follows the story of handyman and ex-con Arkin, who aims to repay a debt to his ex-wife by robbing his new employer’s country home. Unfortunately for Arkin, a far worse enemy has already laid claim to the property – and the family. As the seconds tick down to midnight, Arkin becomes a reluctant hero trapped by a masked “Collector” in a maze of lethal invention – the Spanish Inquisition as imagined by Rube Goldberg – while trying to rescue the very family he came to rob.

As far as the plot goes, it sound original....yet somewhat...ridiculous. I mean what are the odds that while you are trying to take your revenge, someone else just happens to be taking his revenge at the same time? This film is on my "I'll keep an eye on it" list, cause I'm not trashing it, cause I haven't seen it yet and it's still to early for a decent look into it, but I'm not all the way sold to see it.

Judging from who the writers are, I'm sure this will suck.

so it looks cool just cause it moves? I think it looks lame as 99% of recent hollywood horror flick posters do

I think it is better than most horror posters lately, but still doesn't hold a candle to all the old-school horror posters. But I will probably check this one out, the plot is interesting enough, I guess.

I'm going to check it out. I love the Feast movies for their ridiculous amounts of fun.

This probably will suck. Freestyle Releasing isn't a film buyer, they are a for-hire distributor that can get pretty much any film a wide release if you pay them enough... I don't recall any good horror films from them as of yet, so we'll see...

"From the writers of saw IV, V, and VI ??? Well now I just have to see it! ...... Cool poster otherwise

I like this poster alot. Until I saw the writers...I'll still be checking this out for sure, it sounds fun and enjoyable, but I have a feeling that this will be not as great as I previously expected.

Poster would be better if it didn't move to be honest... Seems kind of pointless. Thought it would move by itself, not move 2 cm in each direction depending on where your mouse is... I just can't see what's so "cool" about that?

Boilersuit_Mayhem

Wait - there were writers involved with Saw 4-6?

Good question Boilersuit_Mayhem...i thought all they did was hire people from the milking business

It looks good because of a poster? You guys are easy.

from the writers of saw 4-6? Nooo, please, no more.... i'll be sparing my poor innocent brain cells from permanent damage by staying as far away from this as possible

Boring... "from the writers of Saw 4, 5 and 6"... thats their selling point? Gore and inventive ways to poke your eyes out is getting tiring...No imagination.
