While Shocktillyoudrop reported yesterday night (and confirmed this morning) that Sony Screen Gems is aiming to get Resident Evil: Afterlife in theaters by September 17, 2010, Hollywood.TV caught up with star Milla Jovovich who exclaims, "We're going to start shooting at the end of the year." You can watch that video below. The fourth film in the franchise adapted from the popular video game is said to take place in Tokyo.

I shudder. Paul W.S.X.Y.Z. Anderson can't put his name on anything without it turning to crap. Here's to hoping.

The third one was OK. And I'm in love with Milla. I'll give it a chance.

Terrible movies. Below any kind of standards one could create. Anderson + Sony screwed it up. If they followed the games exactly we would have three legendary (Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Halloween) films. But they made them into kungfu action crap. They all need to stay away from this series and let someone talented make movies based off the games.

GAAAYYYYYYYYYY THE RESIDENT EVIL MOVIES SUCK! The only good one was the most recent CGI movie, which is the only one to actually feel like a Resident Evil movie. FUCK MILLA JOHAVANANANANAAICK or whatever her name is, and fuck those movies!!!! THEY SUCK! Resident Evil is one of the best game franchises out there and those movies shit all over them!!!

the movies are real bad. they should stop making them, or let better, more horror-esq adapted, directors have a crack at them.

This is, besides all the Uwe Bowl video game adaptions, one that I WISH they would redo. Paul kept the first movie close to the video games. The second, he did an okay job. Third...well at least some of the characters from the came were in it. So I will admit I am afraid what's going to happen to it now. I will admit, I like the Resident Evil movies, only because I no longer look at them as Resident Evil movies. I just look at them as zombie films. They have never been the Resident Evil film I wanted so I never qualified them, to myself, as Resident Evil films, just zombie films. Now we all know we're right. If you look at the films as Resident Evil films, then yeah they are going to suck. If you look at them as zombie films, they aren't half bad lol. So, I'm sort of excited/ sort of annoyed that another movie is being made.

I cannot wait for this! I'm one of very few fans on here I'm guessing. I'm so glad Milla is back for this one. And it taking place in Tokyo is awesome. I can't wait to see what they do with it.

The last two sucked worse than a chick that doesn't know how to give head.

i liked 1 & 2 but i hated the third. i'm hoping this one's better than the 3rd.

I'm just holding out hope that I will finally see some hunters on the big screen. They had the goddamn lickers in the first two and the dogs have been done to death. They also made the Nemesis a pussy. I want better monsters, dammit!

I enjoy these movies, maybe not the 3rd one so much. I think it being in Tokyo could be pretty awesome, we'll see.

Haha, I'm surprised it took them this long to get to Japan with this terrible franchise. I'm sure we can look forward to some X-TREME drifting car chases and Faux-Fu slow motion fights. How they managed to turn Resident Evil into HIGH OCTANE Wapanese bullshit with zombies is beyond me.

I actually can't wait! The first one and 3rd one are great fun. The first remains true to the game but they end up going way off track however, as zombie films they are pretty good as Resident Evil, meh.

so, here is it finally is, ive been waiting to hear more ab out this. in all honesty this would be a great movie franchize if it didnt have Resident Evil Attached to it, because i like the movies, but since i am a dyer RE fan of the games, this doesn't fit with me to well. and it seems they leave soo much out of the game element making it a totally different experience, if capcom hopes that thse movies will boost their sales and draw new fans in with these movies, i hate to be the one to say, but when the fans get to play the game they will be very confused because the movie's whole center is about Alice, WHICH IS IN ABSOLUTELY NONE OF THE GAMES!!!

these are some of the worst movies i've ever seen. the second one made my eyes bleed. it was so stupid! every car was on fire. why? cause it's a zombie outbreak. everybody knows that in case of a zombie outbreak you torch your car! this is terrible news.

The Resident Evil movies dont evoke the feeling of the game AT ALL. A fourth installment is not a good idea in my opinion.
