In a new interview at Empire, director Shane Meadows (Dead Man's Shoes) reveals that he's currently developing Beware the Devil, a new adaptation about the occult. “It’s based on a book of the same name, based on the life of a guy who, by getting involved with ouija boards and the occult by trying to disprove it, trying to take the piss out of it, got possessed, had to be exorcised, and later became an exorcist himself. The guy it happened to has died, but his son’s a novelist, and he helped him turn it into a book before he passed away, and now I’m working with him to turn it into a film.” Robert Lee wrote the book "Beware the Devil: A True Story of Deliverance".

This sounds pretty cool. I like the idea, just wonder how it will compare to other devil related movies in the sense of horror.

I completely agree with turtlenipple this looks like a weak pro-christian movie... you want a true horror movie have one about the Spanish Inquisition or how about a rich international organization steeped in religion that has numerous high ranking officials who molest and brutally beat little boys all over the world and their conspiracy to cover it up... now that is a scary story that is actually true

I'm usually a pretty open-minded guy, but I have to agree with turtle and rhino here. I have a TON of first-hand experience with ouija boards and, obviously, they're a joke. Tip:if toys 'r' us sells them, it's not cool enough to have demonic powers. This is just too bogus for me to take seriously.

And yet people are satisfied blowing their collective wad on Transformers 2? That's super realistic [hint: sarcasm]. Suspension of belief, go look it up.

Optimus sacrificed his energon so the Decepticons wouldn't enslave mankind. It's all true, like a spaceman that sends his son to be born from a virgin to go on a suicide mission with a talking snake mixed in some magical garden. And so it was written.

Well Dead Mans Shoes was excellent. This was down to I thought Paddy Considine's acting/writing....but it was really well shot. Sounds interesting though...
