The Original Director's cut of Clive Barker's Book of Blood will be released by Lightning Home Entertainment on Blu-ray disc and DVD this fall. The title will be distributed by Lionsgate Home Entertainment. Both formats street on September 29, 2009. Based on the short stories "The Book of Blood" and "On Jerusalem Street", BOOK OF BLOOD is the latest on-screen adaptation of Mr. Barker's works. The movie will be in 16x9-enhanced 1.78 widescreen with 5.1 Surround sound. Also included is a "Behind the Scenes" featurette running approximately 20 minutes. BOOK OF BLOOD stars Sophie Ward and Jonas Armstrong, and is directed by John Harrison. When a paranormal expert (Ward) recruits "medium" Simon McNeal (Armstrong) to investigate a supposedly haunted house, Simon winds up as a conduit for souls on their way to the afterlife --who carve their stories on his body as a living book of blood.

Funny thing about this site, they seem to understand that just cause THEY think a movie is crap, doesn't mean everyone else will. I'm psyched for this. Major Barker fan, so even if it is crap, I'll probably still enjoy it. Looking forward to the other movies getting proper release maybe...

I was sad to see the shitty review you guys gave it but I'm still trying to keep an open mind. It is Barker after all, which immediately makes it more interesting than 90% of the other stuff due out.

Okay, I know everyone will shit on me for this, but as a major fan of Barker's novels and short stories, I really find that most of the movies made from them are not as good. I know, I know, Candyman, the Hellraisers, Night Breed, they were great, but the books are just so horrific and graphic and gross and wonderful. I'm not super-psyched about this film but I guess we'll see.

I'm excited for this, but I'm not going to get my hopes up. I'll still buy it though.
