Warner Home Video has officially announced Dave Parker's The Hills Run Red which stars Tad Hilgenbrinck, William Sadler, and Sophie Monk. DVD Active reports that this new horror will be available to own on the 29th of September, and should retail at around $19.99. The film itself will be presented in anamorphic widescreen, along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround track. Extra features will include an audio commentary with Director Dave Parker, Writer David J. Schow and Producer Robert Meyer Burnett, and a It's Not Real Until You Shoot It: The Making of The Hills Run Red featurette.

A film fanatic's obsession with finding a complete print of a classic slasher movie leads him and two friends into the backwoods where the film was shot. They realize too late that filming never ended -- the movie's star, the deformed, murderous BABY FACE, and his twisted family continue to film and kill unsuspecting victims. Now our heroes must survive the nightmarish onslaught or become part of the movie forever.

The Hills Have Eyes? I love when an amateur designer completely rips a layout from pre-existing one. It may not be the designers fault, I'm sure some suite said 'hey, lets make this look like The Hills Have Eyes so we can capitalize on it's mild success"

Is this like, a sequel or prequel to "The Hills Have Eyes"? The title font is exactly the same and it has a very similar look. If it's NOT, then that's pretty effed up that the designer totally ripped off that design...

Nope, it's not at all related to The Hills Have Eyes. Don't know why they ripped off the font except that yes, they're hoping to piggyback off that film's success.

I love the barbed wire that is used for the band! The killer looks badass, and the film will be too (I hope).

Plot sounds like a mix of the aussie slasher "Cut" and your usual TCM wannabe... that mask is pretty cool though.

GoreGore_Dancer, thanks for pointing out this was directed by Dave Parker, I was almost interested for a second. The director of The Dead Hate the Living, and writer of House of the Dead, 2 of the worst, most amateur, cheesy (not in a good way) flicks I have suffered through. I not be wasting my time on this, guaranteed it will be loaded with attempts at stupid humor. Thanks for the heads up.

It does look like a "The Hills Have Eyes" design rip-off, but LOTS of movies use the Trajan typeface on their posters/DVD covers, especially horror movies.

Not a terribly original design, but the killer looks creepy enough to get my interest.
