Dimension Films to Remake 'An American Werewolf in London'

After teasing the possibilities to Bloody-Disgusting last June, news comes in exclusively to B-D from a regular tipster that writer/director John Landis has sold the remake rights for An American Werewolf In London to Dimension Films. As Halloween II makes its way into theaters, the Weinstein brothers are hard at work at getting the Hellraiser remake off the ground and now will be retelling the story of two American tourists in England who are attacked by a werewolf that none of the locals will admit exists. I wonder how they'll ruin this? Any guesses? Two hot American tourists with big boobs in England....

Yeah, this is gonna be a hard sell. This is a great movie done extremely well by Landis. It's hard to visualize this being better. This is alot like THE THING.

I agree, it would be like trying to remake Animal House or the Blues Brothers...sorry, they were perfection for what they aimed to achieve. Same for Landis's American Werewolf in London!

F**k this, think of something original or at least borrow some ideas from the damn movie then title it something else. It's starting to get offensive with what they are deciding on remaking, somebody put a hit out on the Weinsteins please.

This really doesn't need a remake. It's still a perfectly fine film, it's not like giant cultural differences would keep people from enjoying it today. Also ... how are you going to improve the special effects? The terrible CGI in "American Werewolf in Paris" still haunts me at night.

Yeah it's hard to believe, but i heard it from HIS own mouth in london friday night! But there is some good news. In the nest few weeks, he'll be starting 'burke and hare' for ealing pictures in ealing and scotland.

Fuck. Why remake a film like that. Do something like the Howling, where it can actually be improved upon. Werewolf in London is damn near perfect.

Seeing how it's only just been optioned, I feel the fate of this one lies in the box office of the upcoming "Wolf Man" remake. Should that bomb, we probably won't see London. However, should it smash, it's smart for the Weinstein's to have something ready to go.

Bollocks. Every talentless hack music video and ad director on the planet just pissed his pants at the prospect of landing this one. Is nothing sacred? Where does it end? Maybe horror directors should get revenge by remaking shit pop promos.

I hope it's good, but even if it ends up being crap it wont change how I feel about the original.

i agree, this does not need to be touched but the howling does cause it was a piece of shit. this though, leave it alone. if they doit this time with 2 females you got a ginger snaps on your hands which to me that and american werewolf in london are the best werewolf movies ever made.

AND IT BETTER NOT BE NO FUCKING PG-13 EITHER! that will definetly kill it even if it might or could have potential.

I bet they are going to make it PG-13 with beautiful people in it to sell ti big dumb masses (sorry for double post)

Grime

My guess on how they'll ruin this is they will cast those two cock-pullers from Supernatural (the TV show).
