What a Lame 'Under the Mountain' Poster, First Still

I feel like I've entered the Twilight Zone as the first one sheet for Under the Mountain resembles incredibly lame posters like the one for Disney's Race to Witch Mountain. This ain't no Disney movie, or is it? In addition to the one sheet, you can also take a peak at the first official still, also quite disappointing. But alas, the film is directed by Jonathan King, who brought us the over-the-top gorefest Black Sheep, and stars one of my favorite actors, Sam Neill, who starred in such classics as In the Mouth of Madness, Event Horizon, The Omen III, Jurassic Park, and the forthcoming Daybreakers. How can is be bad?

When teenage twins Rachel and Theo investigate the creepy old house next door, they discover the Wilberforces - shape-shifting creatures that lurk beneath Auckland’s ring of extinct volcanoes. Guided by the mysterious Mr Jones and with the help of their older cousin Ricky, the twins must rekindle the unique powers they once shared if they are to destroy this ancient evil - before it destroys them.

Sam Neil is such an underrated actor. Wish he could get better parts.

I agree about Neil, and I agree about the poster too.

Looks like a Harry Potter poster...

Deathbat

What's Prince Harry doing on the poster? And why has he suddenly inherited Gambit's powers?

i agree that we all agree that we agree

The tagline should be "believe in the number 2"

LOL. something about trying to make kids look badass is inherently lame. it feels, like Mr.D said, so disney. i supposed it's good for a laugh though. :p

if this is a kid's movie then i don't see what the problem is. if this is a hardcore gorefest then yes this is bad. and this is a FANTASY, KID'S movie. what were you guys expecting? for a FANTASY, KID'S MOVIE THE POSTER IS JUST FINE.

Unlike 90% of people who post here I dont really care what a poster looks like, I do care who the director is and who's starring... If you didnt like Black Sheep... Go screw... hope this isn't kids movie and is Rated R.. but that goes for every movie not made by Disney

So you posted this "news story" just so you could rip on some poster from a movie no one will see? Oh I get it, you slap banners allover the site, prostitute your integrity to anyone well know (yeah I saw you bitch about uwe boll then kiss his ass when you got to interview him" so you rip on something small no one will care about so you get to feel like your not always just bending over. I gotcha! Shhhh itll be our secret. /wink

Gargus, youre an idiot. I'll rip on anything that sucks, Rob Zombie won't give us crap because we bashed the hell out of Halloween - rightfully so. And if H2 sucks, I'll be ripping on it all over again. Crap is crap and that's that. But go ahead and live in fantasyland...

Gargus, looking through ALL of your recent comments, I've noticed a trend... you go with the opposite of the majority pretty much every single time. My guess is you're a rebel in school and in life. That doesn't make you a "free thinker", it just makes you a hater.

hahaha deathbat, funny shit man and hey mr. disgusting, yeah it's a lame one sheet, but black sheep was one fuckn crazy ass muther fuckn movie, i mean hell, this movie could actually b like this: two kids runnin in the cliffs from some old guy who intern catches them, then, being sam neil, he walks up does a kwik kwip and pulls out a shotty blasts those 3 lil asshoes offa the cliff, i'd pay to see that movie 8 bucks for 5 min of a flick that sam neil is in for 10... 20 seconds i'm not blak

I got confused and wondered how they made a horror film of "Under the Volcano." I guess alcoholism is horrifying. As it stands "Under the Mountain" is a kids adventure novel. And, yes, it's very similar to "Witch Mountain." Kids with powers fighting alien bad guys.

Wilberforces? Does this have something to do with that British sci-fi teen series THE THIRD EYE?
