After nearly three years (maybe even four?), Paramount Vantage is finally prepping to release Carriers, their post-apocalyptic disease thriller starring Chris Pine, who comes right off the success of Star Trek as Captain Kirk. Directed by Àlex Pastor and David Pastor, he stars alongside Sundance award winner Lou Taylor Pucci, Piper Perabo and Emily VanCamp in the film that follows four friends fleeing a viral pandemic that soon learn they are more dangerous than any virus. Check out the first one sheet below.
A deadly virus has spread across the globe. Contagion is everywhere, no one is safe and no one can be trusted. Four young attractive people race through the back roads of the American West to the pounding beat of a vacation soundtrack. Their aim is to retreat to secluded utopian beach in the Gulf of Mexico, where they could peacefully wait out the pandemic and survive the apocalyptic disease. CARRIERS follow their getaway through a surreal and dangerous world where laws and rules no longer apply. Their plans take a grim turn when their car breaks down on an isolated road starting a chain of events that will seal the fate of each of them in an inexorable and horrifying voyage of hell through a western landscape populated by only the hideous dead or the twisted living. Their desperate retreat south turns into a deadly battle against infected children, homicidal doctors, crazed survivalists, rabid dogs, and, finally each other. The virus is the least of their problems as horrible choices must be made in the face of lost humanity.
I thought it was R like 3 years ago back when it was suppose to come out. But now its PG-13 But IDK I think it will be good only if its a hard PG-13 movie like dark, knowing, drag, terminator. Then we will be fine.
i DO want to see this but i hope they managed to make this a TENSION filled, edgy PG-13. i CAN be done but it's rare (IMO) that it works. this does look like it could be one of the rarities.
This is too obviously only getting released because of Pine's huge success with Star Trek. It no doubt does stink considering how long it's been sitting on the shelf.
One of my friends in spain works for the distribution company that will distribute the film in spain, when she went to the test screening she wasn´t expecting anything special but she ended up telling me it was surprisingly quite good although not horror...she said is way more serious in tone...she told me i might go to an advance screening here in spain in july dunno if it is the u.s pg 13 rated edit or an r rated one since in europe usually we get the unrated cuts will let you know.
This poster is not exciting at all. It doesn't give me that post-apocalyptic feeling. Will I see it in theaters, probably not, will I see it on DVD, yes, only for Chris Pine.
yeah it looks cool - poster I think is very well done and the story is good enough + Piper is smokin fuckin hot. But unfortunately I'm thinking... as Mr.D sayd... and based on the trailer... this is going to suck :((( I want Zombieland dammit!!!
