Entertainer Michael Jackson has died after being taken to a hospital on Thursday after suffering cardiac arrest, according to multiple reports including the Los Angeles Times, the Associated Press and now even CNN. Jackson, 50, had been in a coma at the hospital, sources told CNN. For horror fans, he'll best be remembered for his album Thriller, which in just over a year, became—and currently remains—the best-selling album of all time. Sales are estimated to be between 47–109 million copies sold worldwide. Jackson transformed the medium of music video into an art form and promotional tool through the use of complex story lines, dance routines, special effects and cameo appearances by well known personalities. When the 14-minute-long "Thriller" video aired, MTV ran it twice an hour to meet demand. The video was directed by John Landis and featured the voice talents of Vincent Price and FX work by Rick Baker.

Kills me. I'm not one to give a crap when a celebrity dies, but he was a huge part of my childhood and I have a lot of great family memories that revolve around him.

My heart is broken. The world will never have an artist like the Great Michael Jackson. He will forever be missed!!!!!!!!

Whether you loved him or hated him (either because of his music or because of the allegations against him), you can not deny the fact that this is an enormous loss to the music industry. I, personally, respect him as an artist (even though I am not a fan of his music), but I did not know what to make of him after the molestation allegations and the many other negative stories surrounding him. However, I love music, and this is a very saddening loss to the musio community. RIP Michael Jackson.

Really sad. Very shocking as well, i came back from the store and my sisters told me he died and i couldn't believe it. 50 is too young to die... Very sad news... RIP Michael Jackson.

It's funny when it comes to death when people realize their true feelings about him. We can't deny that most of us despised him after all the child molesting issues with him some years ago. But when it comes down to Jackson dying, you realize how big of an influence he was to the pop and overall music culture.

Thriller was one of the first horror related things I ever say as a child, and it scared me, but I was fascinated with this thing called Horror at the same time. So it was in part thanks to Michael that I became such a rabid fanatic. Now I did appreciate his music from the 80's as much as everyone else I knew did, but I rather lost interest after the "Black and White" video and album. I ignored the scandals, only because I know Hollywood and the whole celebrity image function off of all the gossip, and I try to stay as far clear from that side of the entertainment industry as possible. But I was watching Thriller like literally 10 minutes before a friend called and said Michael Jackson just died! So whether for good or bad, Michael had a part in my childhood horror love, thanks to Thriller, but also my creative side too, because he was such an enthusiastic creator. RIP Michael and prayers go to his family and loved ones!

MJ, you made some cool music. I guess everything happens for a reason. But yeah, farewell.

Allegations????? The sick fuck came out and said he slept in bed with little boys.....The only reason I'm sad to see this pederast dead is that he will never have to "face the music". Celebrities and rich folk can get away with murder in this country...but just because he could "entertain", didn't give him the right to do what he "allegedly" did. A normal joe like you or myself would have never received a "fair" trial like Michael Jackson got. There's a reason he didn't live in America anymore.... And yes, as I was growing up, I owned his music and loved thriller....but WTF?

My favorite train-wreck has died. :-( Truly the end of an era. He will be missed by me and many others, but not for the reasons he would like. R.I.P.

to those who are so quick to condemn him, don't you think that after all of the investigations, testimony and deliberation, if he'd truly molested anyone he'd have been convicted? the man was undeniably weird, but after two major trials spanning two decades, i think he'd be behind bars if he'd done anything substantive, beyond creeper status.

Really sucks ..... I always wanted to see an MJ concert. So what you will about the guy but he's still a fucking legend, and seeing him live would have been like seeing The Beatles , The Doors or Elvis live. Just crazy.
