Trailer: Do You Dare Push The Button in 'The Box'?

Richard Kelly (Donnie Darko) is back without another bizarre spin on reality with The Box, which is based upon the short story "Button, Button" by Richard Matheson that was also a "Twilight Zone" episode. Today Warner Bros. Pictures released the first trailer for the film arriving in theaters October 30th. The footage looks really solid and carries a few creepy moments, but I am really, really getting sick of trailers using the Saw theme in them.

Norma and Arthur Lewis are a suburban couple with a young child who receive an anonymous gift bearing fatal and irrevocable consequences. A simple wooden box, it promises to deliver its owner $1 million with the press of a button. However, pressing this button will simultaneously cause the death of another human being somewhere in the world...someone they don't know. With just 24 hours to have the box in their possession, Norma and Arthur find themselves in the crosshairs of a startling moral dilemma and face the true nature of their humanity.

Looks awesome, but I agree with the Saw theme. While I'm one of the few who still enjoys the Saw movies, I think it should be saved exclusively for those.

Looks cool, but again the 'Saw' music collides fiercely with the theme of the movie... not properly used..

I'm disappointed with the trailer. It looks like a really polished, studio horror movie similar to Final Destination. There's nothing gritty & subtle about it. Further, there's not one frame in the trailer that indicates Richard Kelly directed it. It might as well have been directed by Steve Miner. And casting Cameron Diaz? Can this movie be any more unpromising?

Drag me to hell wasn'T trying to be serious and that's why it wins beside DMTH there is no such thing as a good scary BLOODY DISGUSTING HORROR MOVIE THAT'S PG13. anyway I was kind of taken by suprise "Hello Zepp" came on and the guy at 1:18 outside the window looked like Tobin Bell AKA Jigsaw so much I looked up if Mr. Bell was in this movie but he's not. Anyway this whole thing with the box seems kind of like Jigsaw's test where he's going to test you to see if your a good person and would remind that way even if your life was threatened. Plus I have a feeling this is like Infamous and the husband will become that man in the future from doing this test.

and this actually might be good since all of them have pretty good southern accents

Sweet shit Kelly owns. Southland tales was an amazing movie. IDK why nobody liked it. Maybe because they didn't get it. It is a hard movie to gasp. Takes a week to settle in.

The Saw music really doesn't fit. Not digging Diaz's accent. I know very little of the story. I've been wanting to read the Matheson short, but I'll hold until I see the movie, even though it seems like it stretches the plot to absurdity. Another conspiracy film? Or that's just what the trailer seems to be pushing. I like the concept of the button and the killing. Simple. This looks very complicated. I do like the feel/look of the movie. Almost looks like something from the 70s, just a little too polished. Ugh, very mixed feelings. I'll still see it no doubt.

I wanna see it but plz take that SAW theme off...don't they have the rights for that!?

Reminds me of the short story "The Monkey's Paw"....could be pretty good for a Hollywood horror. I agree, the SAW theme is great piece of music but needs to be left within that franchise.
