they should use drawings like in the old times, that would look much better, when you can do no good with photoshop DO NOT USE IT!

No mention of whether these films are going to be the uncensored versions that the MPAA ripped apart.

AWESOME!!! I will have to pick them up!!!

to MrBitch: No way in hell these will be uncut, as the other re-releases have not been. Best you can get would be editing in the deleted (or "slashed") scenes into the film yourself.

are they ever going to release what fans want - the uncut editions of these movies? Especially part 7..so lame

fceurich

according to dan farrands who did the special features it is impossible for these to be uncut

I'm sorry, but I'm not re-buying my F-13th collection.

Those covers are awful. They should stick with the original art work

I agree the original artwork is best, but these are an improvement over the last DVD covers for 7 & 8, in my opinion. What I want to know is where the blu-rays are for 4-6?

I miss the original artwork :( 7 & 8 do have better covers than 4-6 though, I agree.

I don't mind the new artwork, but why in the blue hell are they still using the part 5 mask as the cover template? I mean, its not even Jason's mask! Just because they changed the color of the triangle from blue to red, doesn't change the fact its the wrong mask.

i have the boxed set with all 8 movies...anyone have an opinion on whether these "special editions" are much different (or any different at all) from the versions in the boxed set? i'm talking strictly the films and NOT the extras. stupid fuckin studios and their stupid fuckin MULTIPLE re-releases.

Kal-El

While these covers are better than the previous DVD releases WHY can't they just use the original artwork. Those are the best covers anyway? Also, I refuse to buy any of the DVD releases. I've spent enough on Friday the 13th releases to be triple dipping on DVDs. I'll wait for the Blu-ray of these.

And yeah... WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH THAT MASK!?!?!?

Well at least they got the crack in the mask right with the part - 7 cover! LOL

I might pick up these to hear the commentary and then trade them off. I am more than happy with the current box set and wish they had put all the little stuff that they have as "special features" on the original set. It's a waste. I know soon as the new set comes out the current one will be in every used DVD stop in multiples collecting dust.

navyblues: The only difference between the box set and these re-re-re releases is the audio mix which has been upgraded to 5.1 Surround instead of the original mono and Ultra Stereo that was used. I personally have the box set and double dipped only for 3 (because of the 3D) and 4 (because of the better than average extras) otherwise meh.

Fceurich: Dan Farrands is full of shit. Why can't they do what they did with the My Bloody Valentine uncut DVD?

fceurich

probably just don't want to have to pay alot of money to do the seamless branching for part 7 which i doubt even costs anything i too am pissed that part 7 won't have seamless branching

I just want to know who they used to take the picture of the guy for part 7. I wonder if he'll start appearing at cons saying he is a true Jason!?
